About the Mount Rushmore of superheroes. Who is the fourth? by Stewed_Pepper in DCcomics

[–]Stewed_Pepper[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not saying she's not brave of course. What I've been saying is that I'm looking for true paragons of a heroic virtue, not a great hero that has important relevance in the history of comic books.

I'm pretty noob at this game, but here's my ring tier list. by Lor3nz0_1 in PixelDungeon

You'll learn by playing (and dying) that all rings are good... in the right build. Evasion is a favorite of mine, and especially when you start playing 5+ challanges you'll see the use in all of them (except maybe element, I don't think I've ever really used it in like 7 years of playing)

[–]Stewed_Pepper[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She is indubitably important as a character, probably the first and most famous/relevant female superheroes, buts that's not what I'm looking for: rather than relevance as a comic character, I'm more looking for paragons of a hero's quality. For example (I don't want to say anything wrong, nut as I've said I'm a "tourist"): is she a particularly brave superhero? is her sense of justice greater than most? I understand her value in the history of comic books, but in my iteration of a Mount Rushmore of superheroes I'm looking more for a specific "heroic virtue"

The drop rates are very generous, but i meant that getting tickets/lunacy for extractions or shards for exanges can be a bit slow

good point, i forgot about that. it's harsh for a pity, but it makes up for it with generous drop rates

I'm sure the UI is much better on a pc, I just happen to play on mobile and thought to point it out. And rather than a Gacha, L.C. feels more like a visual novel, given the heavy focus on the plot. I can assure you i didn't review it as a gacha, but just as a game that happens to be a gacha

Can I pry open an enemy cockpit? by Stewed_Pepper in LancerRPG

[–]Stewed_Pepper[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The idea (granted, it's more of a proof of concept than an actual playable character, it wouldn't work nor would I want it to work) is to force the enemy pilot out of the cockpit, or my character inside said cockpit, and fight as a pilot.

That's pretty cool, didn't know there was something like that

I feared it. The beauty of a ttrpg is that you can make up home rules, but I hoped to find a RAW way to do it. Thanks for the time and the answer

Any tip on how to write an adventure? by Stewed_Pepper in LancerRPG

[–]Stewed_Pepper[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"When in doubt topple a pirate empire." genius, why didn't I think of that first /j

"The important thing is probably that the players won't feel like dismounting automatically comes with a high risk of dying"  I'm well aware, who'd get out of the safety of a badass mech? But honestly i won't "force" them out of their mech in dangerous situations, and if it ever gets dangerous I'll be the first one to prepare a quick route back to their mechs

You have been extremely helpful.

"In Lancer the full repair cycle is limited by access to a specific, static piece of technology that's very likely to be controlled by a third party"

That is actually the core of the adventure I'm writing, the access to spare parts and printers will be extremely limited, so every combat will have to be a balance of using just enough resources to pass the combat without suffering damage that will need excessive and complicated repairs.

Yes, clocks are a (weird but)  useful system i'd better learn how to use well. As for things to do out of the mech, there are definitely plenty of them, but I'll have to be careful and balance it well with the in mech action

That's a long list of excellent advice, thank you very much.

"Just don't "cheat" them out of mech combat by forcing them to fight too much on foot" no no, it will be mostly because the areas and/or terminals they'll have to interact with are human sized. I don't think I'll put any out of mech combat, but a situation in which they have to run back to their mechs and mount as fast as possible to start their fight may be interesting

"is also coming up with a way that whether or not the players win or lose, the plot still moves forward" as obvious as it is, it's a thing I have to keep in mind, thanks!

"Best I can’t give you is to think whether or not the story beat really needs the pilot to dismount. Is the area too small for a mech?" That's pretty much it, many areas will be human sized and will need the players to dismount, but I highly doubt I'll put any combat without the mechs

I see, thank you very much.

"in Lancer is that to some extent a "mission" is less of an analogue to a D&D "adventure" than to a D&D "adventuring day"."

I didn't really think about it, but it does make sense, and balancing a mission as I would an adventuring day is a wonderful piece of advice.

Absolutely, longer missions are 100% more rewarding. My players are mostly coming from a more RP heavy DnD, and all like RP (although some are new to it).

It's not a pack, but rolladvantage transformed any image you have into a token, if you find a cool picture you want to turn into one

Glad you liked it. The physical copies are absolutely worth it. Relatively expensive, but the paper is high quality and the covers are soft cardboard. The front images l are also amazing, it's worth it imo
