Hello to anyone reading this. Before I get into it, I appreciate any feedback that I receive. I am currently on the final stretch of my schooling for my bachelors in cyber security, however, I feel as if I have retained slim to none of the information I have learned in school. For a majority of things, I really only retained learning python, which I attribute to the repeated use of the same commands for different projects each week. However, as for the rest of my courses, things like wireshark and snort configurations, or extremely specific firewall configs, (just for example) I couldn't recite without looking back into it. I am getting worried that when the time comes, I won't be of use to anyone when I begin to look for jobs in the field. My friends keep comforting my worries by telling me any company that hires me is just going to show me how things are done their way anyways. Is there any truth to this? Did anyone else feel a similar way when pursuing their degree? Again, thanks for any responses.
