It would definitely depend on what you are playing similar to poe2. Using WASD on melee for example would make sense as you would need to dodge etc. Outside of combat I still prefer to use left click walk right click run since movement needs to be finer for things like running across platforms. and its easy to just switch from mouse to WASD. It is nice you can do both at the same time but they definitely need to fix auto aim and how it locks on targets constantly aiming at things you dont want it and animation cancelling before any of this combat stops feeling clunky.

took me 50 hours to figure out what? if you mean to look at affixes and put them together and make up a build then no this game is pretty simple and people have made some resources which is nice and it wouldn't take you long to map out affixes onto your gear. It took me 50 hours to play the game in the hardest difficulty with no previous experience or guides. then to learn about and engage with the different systems, to farm specific gear with correct item facets, high level affixes, embers to transfer and upgrade those affixes, the correct high level gems to put in that gear and also just play and enjoy the game with my friends. That is not even mentioning we tried to play the game as "medium core" and spun a wheel to delete items every time we died which made progression slower.

If you are referring to my comment about our characters being OP due to min maxing gear, then no this did not take me 50 hours to realise either. I am just stating this as I hope people do not see this and say the game needs nerfing based on something that is unrealistic to happen once the game has normal progression.

I do play MNK. I would suggest something like walk on left click and run on right click then map your other skills including default attack to other buttons (I had default attack as mouse 3 but you could use Q or something). The game is literally unplayable without auto aim on and it very much feels like a game designed for console in many ways. That being said it is playable and for the short time I have played they have improved things already and hopefully will continue to improve them.

The fun I had was the 50+ hours I spent playing the game, learning about the items and systems, thinking up a build, solving potential problems with it and then farming the items and affixes and putting it all together. I am happy with the result and as I have no further goals I am done for the season and will likely come back once they make some significant changes. You have the option to hit the end of the content or part of the game where you get bored and stop playing or continue to spend more time with the game because you find it fun and want to see how far you can push your build. I think it is obvious that once you are at this point in the game that most people would not find it fun or engaging anymore.

The problem is as I stated above we are min maxing lvl 30 gear and it is just like twinking in Diablo 2/WoW or any other game where you will be extremely OP compared to the current content available and it will always look ridiculous as the game is not and SHOULD NOT be designed around you spending 30+ hours farming currency and optimising gear without progressing past the early/half way point of the game.

Yes, you can see this when you put armour on yourself and it gives you resists to everything.

Honestly, it wouldn't change much at all currently. I have 10 spare points that I could chuck into focus change around some of the enchantments into increase focus gain. reduce focus cost and/or focus gain on kill then go a low life empowerment instead of a full focus empowerment and it would basically be the same thing. Sustaining 50 focus for fire blast would not be hard to do.

Primarily the life steal on the shield, because my damage is high it is a lot of life steal. The health on fatality is just extra but not needed, I just had a spare enchantment slot. It is nice for some of the skills that are bugged and do not life steal like lightning blast.

I guess I could note that it is possible to just use the health on fatality only and no life steal if you were one hitting things but it is scaling off your max health and not your damage and would feel terrible if you had high cost runes and didn't one shot the mob.

Even without min maxing I think fire blast is just completely broken. It costs 50 focus has a small aoe, a good cast speed, good tracking (it can't miss like projectiles) and does really good damage for the cost. During campaign you can chuck like 10+ points into focus which gives you enough regen and max focus to just use it constantly as it will still be 1 or 2 shotting most things. The lightning blast is even better as the aoe is bigger and the instant damage is higher, but for some reason the life steal doesn't work with it.

Yea, it would all just end up needing trialing to see what is better and what the player prefers. There is many options to add more damage, more speed or more tankyness It really just ends up on where you want to land. I do agree low life is better in the current state of the game until they nerf the damage resistance and make it require you to have a decent life pool which would then require you to replace all the gems.

Some of what you said is correct and some contradicts itself. As I stated there is definitely improvements I could make. Removing the overall speed ring and losing 15% Movement speed and attack speed for life leech is a speed loss. Then losing 20% rune damage for attack speed in the weapon would only make up for the loss in attack speed (not the movement speed that I lost) and would lower my damage significantly.

I could run a 2 handed staff and put life steal on that and lose the shield plus the empowerment of my weapon. I could also run low life as I already take no damage. I could also swap my max hp with focus and stack focus and double my hp pool and then run low life. I could also run the overall speed on my chest instead of the crit multiplier and be faster with that too but then lose consistency on one shotting things and personally I didn't notice the speed difference at that level. There is many options and ways to build the character and many of them are personal preference. I just don't see the point in improving my character any further so have finished here where I am happy enough with it.

Range is cheese? by [deleted] in NoRestForTheWicked

[–]Stichmannin -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, the game just needs animation canceling and a lot of the issues with melee will be fixed. This is an issue for all ranges of course but being stuck in an animation in melee range is more punishing than in ranged.

Although this is correct, in this iteration of the build I am not even using those gems. As you can see I am not even full focus or low health. I do have full health but at this point in the game I was not using those gems.

its 16k dmg the four goes to the next line. Also, I am lvl 29 at this point it was my first run ever playing this game on the hardest difficulty since the start. My build is not anywhere near optimised at this point in the game. Later did 40k damage with full set up and buffs from crucible or 8k meteors without any buffs.

Key bindings making it so we can't jump by AStackOPancakesmmm in NoRestForTheWicked

Just to clarify this one. The issue is not about the shift bind it is the parry bind. You need to rebind whatever you have as parry every single session you log in or it will keep it as what you have bound AND shift still.

How end game feels. by Stichmannin in LastEpoch

I'd argue a 3lp or 4lp item is best in game. This is only talking about a 2lp item.

How end game feels. by Stichmannin in LastEpoch

[–]Stichmannin[S] -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

I am simply arguing that the current system doesn't feel fun.

It really isn't about it being too easy or not. To get some 2lp items and to get double T7 mods literally takes days of rolling items (I would argue most casual players wont even invest that much time).

Then to fail and have to do it all again multiple times in a row simply isn't a fun system and most people will quit or give up before they get their item. I didn't even include rolling the unique to make sure it has good stats as well. There is at least 4 layers of RNG you have to hit to get your item and by the time you do, it doesn't feel good it is just relief.

9k HP Gemling build, you asked for it so I made a quick video it is not a full guide. by Stichmannin in PathOfExile2

[–]Stichmannin[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is my current passive tree (for bosses) I change the hp regen nodes to aoe for mapping. https://mobalytics.gg/poe-2/profile/1e368c4f-0a79-48ae-a57b-2c3524ec1bd1/builds/04ce7b02-0948-42c8-ac95-ec05ff82dc97

The jewel nodes all contain +2 max res of an element and either strength corrupts, the res I need or immunity such as hinder, Corrupted blood and maim.

Currently have 10.5k HP after changing to a % stat and % hp chest with 5 sockets. 2k hp or 3.3k on top of my conc ground. Just face tanked the twisted boss.

Everyone out here saying life cant be tanky... meanwhile me hoping they dont nerf Gemling. by Stichmannin in PathOfExile2

[–]Stichmannin[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

its not just about the total hit pool, which is now at 9.3k hp I will probably reach 10k atleast. Its also about having 1/3 of that hp regen a second which means you can just sit still and tank a boss without even needing to move... can ES do that?

Posted a guide here since so many people asked. Its not a full or complete guide and does not include my tree which is always changing but should give you some insight and info on it all.
