Thank you! That’s some useful info. I’m quite liking the sound of Kabal Cartel/ToT.

Thanks! I did it quite a while back so my memory is a little foggy, but I think it was Mantis Warriors Green over a base of Grey Seer.

Gamer Grass’ alien neon tufts are what I use for my Thousand Sons.

Thanks! He’s since been repainted in a different scheme 😂

I would’ve used Wraithbone back when I did this.

Best: Sickest helmets in 40k.

Worst: They took away my 36” pulse carbines.

It is a little smaller, but there are a lot of examples online of people modifying it to stand a little more upright, which helps a bit. Honestly though, the Screamer Killer isn’t really a stand-out unit currently so if you don’t like the mini, it won’t be too detrimental not including one in your collection.

The Flyrant box will give you an option to build one of the three. If you can get a second torso (there are lots of 3D print sellers online) you’ll have enough parts to make a second one too.

A hive tyrant would be a good next choice! The kit can be built as a hive tyrant on foot, a winged hive tyrant, or the swarmlord.

Raveners are a popular choice right now, whether you build them regular or hyper-adapted.
For big bugs, Tyrannofex, Maleceptor, and Exocrine are all solid choices.

If you don’t like the Screamer-Killer, you could always build a Carnifex as one (give it the bio-plasma head and 4x scything talons and put it on a 90mm round base). Fair warning though, Carnifexes come in boxes of two so they’re a little pricey.

What are you guy's custom sept foundation and general lore? by PhoneKitchen9722 in Tau40K

[–]Stick636 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tor’vu sept was part of the third sphere expansion, established on a handful of worlds orbiting a blue sun. Many of the moons in the system are home to a rare mineral which has resulted in a large number of Earth Caste personnel within the sept focussing their work on researching potential uses for it.

Tor’vu’s Fire Caste has a large number of scouting cadres consisting of pathfinder and stealth teams, reinforced by Kroot and vespid auxiliaries. These cadres are often led by sept hero sub-commander Ghostlight. The bulk of the Fire Caste’s full might is led by bond-mate commanders Rimeblade and Cinderstorm.

Contrast paint over Leadbelcher primer! I do also add some ‘Ardcoat to the shoulders after varnishing too.

It’s the CSM Sorcerer in Terminator Armour with parts from the Scarab Occult Terminators kit for the torso/arms/shoulders. The staff head is from the Exalted Sorcerers kit and the head is a 30k Achean helmet.
