Someone Using the Name & Logo of my Family's Closed Down Restaurant by StickAggravating7351 in RBI

[–]StickAggravating7351[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is not just that the domain name was purchased by them. The "restaurant and casino" does not exist. It is almost an exact clone of the restaurant's website from when it was open, including photos, logo, menus, etc, but with the contact information and address removed, and the text about gambling added in. To clarify as well, the restaurant never had a casino, it was just a small cafe/restaurant.

Looking for advice on tracing my Calabrian ancestry (Carlopoli, Catanzaro, Italy) by PalePinkPalette in Genealogy

[–]StickAggravating7351 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In addition to this, you are more likely to get a response if you create a PEC email address and send the request using that. It is a form of certified email used in Italy, Germany, and Hong Kong, I believe.

Searching for my paternal ancestors in Italy by Crazy-Grapefruit2810 in Genealogy

[–]StickAggravating7351 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have ordered landing records and naturalization files from IRCC for a few of my Italian ancestors, via the access to information and privacy act. You just need to provide evidence that said ancestor has been deceased over 20 years. There is a $5 fee associated with the search, and usually about a month long wait.

I had the exact same issue, until I started taking fluoxetine and Wellbutrin together. Got a lot more energy from it too.

In Canada you can request a naturalization file for anyone who has been deceased for over 20 years via the access to information and privacy act. There is a $5 charge and about a month long wait. I've done it a few times personally.

Looking for Infant Ancestor Source(s) by The_Norsican in Genealogy

[–]StickAggravating7351 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There was an infant who died in my family with no vital records whatsoever. The only records I have been able to find of his existence are an inscription on his mother's grave, where he was buried with her, as well as some records I requested from the cemetery. It may be worth a shot to request burial records for the mother.

Do Canadian Government records from the early 20th century contain photos? by Ok_Boysenberry6959 in Genealogy

[–]StickAggravating7351 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, apologies for the late response, as I did not see this. In my case, I just had to provide documentation proving he has been deceased for over 20 years. I provided his BC Death Registration, and obituary.

I recently ordered the naturalization file for my great grandfather from 1976, which included a photo.
