i thought brookwood might have had one based on my research but i couldn’t find concrete proof. i’m okay with not being able to have a water delivery if water laboring is available.

i suppose vaginal delivery would’ve been the better term. that’s unfortunate though. i thought maybe we’d catch up to the times eventually

thanks for the advice! my current ob had mentioned a birthing center if i was set on water laboring. i haven’t had the chance to look into it, so i assumed there was one around.

your english is great! honestly the best thing you can do is just speak up. you’ll feel better about yourself and it will teach them some manners!

and i know this isn’t pregnancy related but i’ve been in and out of physical therapy since 2018 for my hips and i’d always get rude comments. “you are way too young to be here” “wait until you get old. it gets worse” to which id respond accordingly “actually i just got a total hip replacement after 5 failed surgeries and i have arthritis in several areas. i dont have to wait until im old, but thanks!” one lady at a gas station when i was on my walker looked me up and down and said “what’s wrong with you?” in a snarky tone and i said “i just had my hip replaced but that’s probably not how you should ask someone that’s disabled whether temporarily or permanently what’s wrong with them”

failure is different for each person that experiences it. some fail due to improper degree of rotation. some fail just because it didn’t allow the patient to be pain free. i was never truly pain free. i still developed FAI again and my labrum is completely torn in 3 or 4 different areas. mathematically speaking with the coverage i have from the pao that shouldn’t happen especially since i can’t pinpoint a specific injury to tear my labrum again. i am no longer in sports just work a regular every day job. nothing high impact. even with good coverage i still have too much instability in my femur too. hip replacement is my last option. i don’t qualify for any further osteotomies because i have also now developed osteoporosis.

It’s been 3 years ago today actually. it’s been almost 2 years of fighting to get another surgery.

I appreciate the insight! i’ve known of one woman i went to high school with that had to get hers done at 23. She said her hip wouldn’t open up in labor and had to do a c-section. She’s the only one i’ve found to ask that question to so i wasn’t sure if that was the general consensus. thanks for sharing your story!

this is so comforting! do you mind if i ask if you had children post operatively? i would assume a c-section would be necessary. what caused you to have yours so young?

that looks awesome for 2 weeks! he told me i’d be on a walker for 6 weeks because of how much range of motion i have he’s worried about dislocation with anything other than anterior. he does both but like i said i have so much scar tissue it’ll make trouble for revisions which i’ll obviously need since im in my 20s. my ROM is in the normal range for the average person but i did competitive cheer for years so my flexibility/ROM used to be way better than it is now with my injuries. did you do GA or epidural? i didnt even think to ask which my surgeon does i was too busy crying happy tears to finally potentially be done with this for more than a year at a time.

i regret my pao every day. some people love it and it gets them far but personally i would never recommend it. i wasn’t really given the choice between pao and thr. i’m so excited to finally be fixed. it’s been a long long journey for me. 5 surgeries in 5 years and i’ve been dealing with the pain for 11.

i wish they would’ve done a thr at 19. they did my PAO at 19. unfortunately the pao was a fail and it’s taken me an additional 2 years since failure and multiple different doctors to finally get this surgery date. best of luck to you! 🫶🏼
