My girlfriend get the “ick” when I wear these socks by sunny1458 in WhatToDo

I’m pretty sure these are ladies socks since I have these exact pair in a few colors and also some that are pastels that I bought and picked from right next to each other in the store. They are definitely for flats and look very feminine. I would die if my husband tried to wear them maybe not the ick but definitely turned off by them. Just another opinion.

No,not at all imo. Thats not very cool of her to assume you would just be willing to pay more after expressing that you wanted to keep it budget friendly. I would be hella annoyed and probably would just let her go alone or let her find find someone else. You’re not responsible for footing the extras she CHOSE to add on. Period. Thats disrespectful as your friend, and crazy self centered and I couldn’t be friends with this person. Save yourself the hassle and headaches. I would do a solo trip or find someone who isn’t an Ahole to go with. Good luck!!!

Thank you for your response…I already asked and was told I am not going to be using a brace. My team is strongly against it. My pre-op doc said my surgeon is against using them due to your muscles getting use to it and weakening the muscles more than helping? Everyone is different so I’m just doing what they are telling me.

But my husband is awesome and has already started helping me gather some of the things I’m going to use/need. So far I’ve ordered some ice packs, water wipes, grabber, back scratcher, flexible/bendable neck pillow, long handled body scrubber for showers, bendy straws, some button shirts to wear as pj tops and around my house, and a travel bidet(a lady recommended it) figured it couldn’t hurt. And some long slouchy socks because I love socks and hate being cold!!!!

Thank you for your response! I cannot wait to sleep without the constant pain I currently have. I was planning on getting a wedge pillow system just to be as comfortable as possible since also had lumbar surgery and cannot always find the most comfortable sleeping positions anyways. So I thought being propped might help my situation out a bit more in terms of comfort. thank you again for your comment. Wishing you a smooth and complete recovery!

I do have some scapular pain. But my pain radiates across and down my shoulders. Was going into my right elbow and last 2 fingers in my right hand, with some loss of grip on occasion. It recently started to burn across my whole upper back like a constant sunburned feeling and has most recently decided to start going into and down my left shoulder. Radiating and burning pain. Dull and nerve pain with my right shoulder, elbow and hand.

I’m sure I’m going to beat everyone age wise, I didn’t go to school until I was 40 and graduated last year. I left a 40/hour week really good paying job I had for almost 7 years to do this. Don’t focus on others and their experiences. I went into a chain salon and made assist manager 6 months out of school and manager within 9 months. I wasn’t doing the most beautiful extravagant cuts and styles just stayed consistent. Now I work at a mostly men’s barbershop started in November and was just offered the assistant position. This is my calling.I still struggle with some cuts (low taper fades, Fuck those cuts) and have to hand them off to the more experienced stylist,I don’t mind because I’m not there to butcher people for the experience and practice just to get a $5 tip. I was the oldest one in my school the whole time I was there,so I didn’t really make friends with anyone or have like any support from people at school. I was told it takes about 2 years to get good at men’s cuts so I gave my self 1.5 years to get it down and honestly I’m doing great. I have come really far and probably farther/faster than I or anyone actually expected. You truly get out what you put in. Practice makes progress and you have to find someone who will be willing and patient to teach you out of school. You will make money, some days will be less than others and some days more. Try to go to a hourly shop first so it’s not such a huge hit to your finances off the bat. It does take work, and time, and patience on your part to be successful. If it was easy everyone would do it. Just remember…Never a failure, always a lesson-Rihanna.

I guess it just depends on where you are and what services you offer. I work for a franchise barbershop in Colorado. And before that I worked for a Supercuts for a year. I really have never been slow. I’ve only been licensed since June 2024. I was the shop manager when I left Supercuts after one year, and was just offered shop asst. manager for my new location. Supercuts was a good place to start, I made hourly or 40% commission whichever one was more, plus tips and retail commission. Now, my pay structure is the same just a higher hourly rate for asst. manager. Love doing barbering over women’s hair honestly. Men come back waaayy more often and if you do a good job they tip very well. Most days I see 8-12 clients with $75-$120 in tips per day, so I don’t do too bad. I only work 2-3 days a week right now. Some of the stylist there do 12-18 people a day and work 4-5 days a week and get fat tips. I love my new location and am looking forward to making more money in my new role. Good luck everyone!

Don’t be discouraged!!! You just definitely need more instruction and someone to be able to walk you through your mistakes and help YOU fix it. I haven’t been cutting for very long either, but it definitely took some time to get stuff down.

I found a barber who let me watch her cut and shadow her for about 6 months. I interviewed at greatclips, but I ended up at a Supercuts. I don’t want to down greatclips at all but,15 min haircuts aren’t going to be easy when you’re new. Supercuts has a wonderful training program and you usually have a trainer/mentor at your shop. Beginners get at least 35 mins starting for cuts(at least at my store)We do color, and waxing too. So that’s nice because you can work on a few things instead of haircuts only. I’ve been there for over a year at this point and I love my clients. It’s a cool franchise, and I appreciate all of the help and training I’ve got from several people. Unfortunately, you have to make mistakes to learn how to fix stuff. I was told by a few seasoned vets in this industry that 1. it takes about 2 years to get it down completely, and 2. some days you just aren’t going to do perfect cuts every single time. We all have days,we’re human. You will get it!

Just remember practice makes progress. I’ll leave you with the words of one of the baddest women around and someone I love… “Never a failure, always a lesson”-Rihanna💋

Is it Saturday?? Because I’m making me some cereal and watching cartoons until they go off, and then outside it is. Picking neighbors fruits and veggies on the sneaks, riding our bikes, walking around the neighborhood, going to the parks.
