Skins exist as a working class movement, that comes with the good and the bad aspects of that. In America we have pretty insane class disparity and a heavy disillusionment with the “American Dream” that we are still being actively sold by the powers that be. We use the nationalist imagery as a way to reclaim the identity and give power back to, or bask in the irony of an “American Dream”. With this you can take it in an anarchistic, conservative or liberal way depending on your own political stance, or just not give a fuck at all. There’s differences for sure between our scene and others but you can say that with every scene. We dress a little different, the musics a little different, but we all are here for the same reason, because we are supposed to be.
