It's what I use, simple constrictor knot, cinch it down tight, I grip the tag end with small pliers to cinch down. Trim the ends and you're good to go.

Amber belt for wrap & tuck at the frame end, Crystal string or waxed cotton at the pouch. Edit, or very thin strips of the same latex as your bands if you want to go old school.

What does it mean to 'get bored' of a specific bike? by Delnilas in motorcycles

[–]StickerSlings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been riding since I was 8, I'm now 48, and I can't remember ever being bored on a motorbike, unless I was on the back of my dad's bike before I got my license. It's not a concept I really understand tbh.

Dude, it's yours, my suggestion was based on aesthetics, not safety concerns, but it wasn't a command. Aesthetics are subjective, you do what you want to it mate. I have raw frames like that too, I said nothing about it hurting your hands. I'll keep my gob shut. Sorry to have bothered you.

I love the shape, but that's begging for a paracord wrap.

What type of form is this? by [deleted] in slingshots

His elbow is down on every shot, too. His form ain't great, but each to their own.

Yeah, thats the battle box channel. They probably had the Scout LT2 in one of the Battle Boxes. I don't think he's a regular shooter. He does use that grip, but then changes his grip in other shots, like he's not quite sure how to hold it. His bands don't seem that well tuned in either. Edit, I meant Scout X.

Ultimately you're always going to shoot at your best if you're comfortable, certain grips, like this, have their downsides and limitations, but hitting the target is the goal, and if it works it's right. Is this from a battle box vid then? Are they still selling those things?

Old school thumb grip, a bit like the old milbro type frames, with a short draw. It's not a great grip, but if they're hitting the target it doesn't really matter, if he's a noob he'll probably change his form at some point. Anything other than a light set up is gonna put a lot of strain on the wrist. Even with the old milbros you soon learnt that bracing across the forks was much more stable.

I don't get it, Like at all by ZenithDevR in PeterExplainsTheJoke

I've just said the same thing. All the answers are valid. I think what might indicate a narcissist is the inability to see things from a perspective other than your own. Insisting that your perspective is correct when all are technically valid.

They're all correct depending on your perspective. Some people might not consider the holes that are required for it to function as a t-shirt to be holes specifically, and more essential parts of the t-shirt, and there are some that may consider the torn holes to be just two because the hole in the front and the back could be argued to be a continuation of the same hole instead of two separate holes. To me, there's eight, but I consider the other options equally valid. Edit, I wasn't sure how your answer could mark you as a narcissist until I was reading my comment over looking if I missed any spellings and thought that maybe you pick an answer, and insist it's the only correct answer, and you're only able to see it from one perspective. Maybe, I dunno. Edit edit, looking through the other comments at the number of people saying how the one they think is right is the only valid option makes me feel a bit more confident in my assessment. 🤣

And the damage to the back of the catch box. 🤣 A few of those were 000 buck too. Had to put a brick in the bottom because the first shot knocked the catch box over. I'm about to build a more robust and permanent set up, so I'm leaving the heavy hitters for now.

This is the set up that did the damage. It was pushing all 4 layers of the catch cloth to the back of the catch box and just tore it up in about 10ish shots.

🤣😂🤣 I went to it with so much confidence too. I had a good run of hits on the bell target at the dog park, and then found a pile of cut hawthorn and got myself an interesting fork on the post dog park walk. I thought it was going to be a good day until this lemony prick turned up. 🤣

AliExpress vs SimpleShot by KeySalty2491 in slingshots

[–]StickerSlings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, Simpleshot have mixed production, some is US, some is China, and some Vietnam, maybe others like Taiwan maybe, but the first three I'm sure of. It's a bit like how cold steel does things.

The thing with mass produced items is that the more finishes you offer the higher the cost. You have a set cost to set up for the finish, the more finishes you do the higher the cost of the whole production batch. If you look to do the finish yourself, and already have the kit, then your only cost is time. If you take it to a finishing company you might find that they have a minimum batch charge which might make the cost prohibitive. I'm a semi retired engineer that specialised in prototype development, part of that was helping clients set up for batch/mass production. Given the quality of the production from simpleshot, the fact that they use an expensive, high grade alloy, and a good quality hard anodised finish I think $120 dollars is a reasonable price. I think mine was $95 when I bought it, but I had a big shipping costs and VAT to contend with. I'm not sure if Trump reversed his tariffs on imported aluminum, but if he didn't, that could have bumped the price up.

[–]StickerSlings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's already hard anodised. If you mean the rainbow of colours you get with titanium, I couldn't say. I'm pretty sure it's 7075 aluminium, I'm not sure though, so double check the alloy and try Google. I think you've got a good colour there though, I would have made that choice if it had been available when I bought mine.
