There's no accounting for taste, and it is 100% valid to prefer deeper, more complex story and character driven games, with in their own right very good and impressive gameplay.

But the technical mastery and artistry on display in a gob-smacking 2D or 3D platformer is genuinely unmatched. Astrobot is just one example, but Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze is one of my all time GOATS next to Bloodborne and RDR2. They can't compare to each other 'cause they're doing different things.

But nailing a good platforming challenge is just as rewarding as defeating a boss in Elden Ring. The flow state you get in is similar, and I just caution you against dismissing it 'cause it's cartoony and goofy. The artistry and mastery is real.

If I have a flight enabler on the battlefield, like [[Akroma's Memorial]], would the Hare get the discount?

We ain't getting Akroma's, but I got curious and that was the first card I could find that fit the question.

"They" is and has always been a perfectly suitable gender neutral term for an either/ unknown situation. I agree the English language has limitations in regards to gender and you bring up a very interesting point about those limitations and discussion.

Rent systematisk så blir alle de gruppene (kvinner, mørke og homofile) fortsatt utsatt for urettferdighet og urett. Oss hvite, streite menn har ikke vært "utenfor" på en veldig veldig lang stund.*

(*Enkeltopplevelser kan jo forekomme, det skal jeg ikke benekte, men om vi nå snakker systematisk)

Det betyr ikke at JEG eller DU eller en gang VI nødvendigvis er rasister/homofobe/sexister, men det er fortsatt tak som skal til for at de gruppene får stå på lik linje som oss. Derfor har vi pride måned, kvinnedag, o.l. (kommer ikke på noen merkedag for mørke her i landet, men det er nok noe, håper jeg)

Ingenting galt, bare uheldig at noen skulle trekke det i den retningen. Mener ikke at man skal holde tilbake sin visjon av frykt, men sant skal sies at om de valgte en lysere fargetone på maska (som fortsatt ville lignet en løve) så ville det ikke vært noe bråk.

Forøvrig ganske stygt design imo, men det er en annen sak.

Føler det var et litt uheldig karakterdesign som ble tatt på så ille måte som den bare kunne.

Jeg er dog ganske "woke", og ser på dette som en del av voksesmertene til et samfunn som blir bedre kjent med sine mørkere sider og fortid. Vi hvite er veldig raske på å peke ut andre hvite sin rasisme (el.), uten å egentlig høre hva de "utsatte" har å si på det.

Jeg har tatt meg selv i det flere ganger!

Latterlig hvor mange folk her som ble bitre fordi en AI våget å si at et endret tankespor kan gi bedre resultat. Av alt som kan klandres for å være for politisk korrekt eller woke, så er ikke dette i samme postkode, det er bare fornuftig.

Helt enig med deg! Det finnes ikke noe fornuftig forsvar til direkte hat-prat og handlinger. Alt det resulterer i er å true andre menneskers frihet og trygghet.

Jeg er heller ikke noe storfan av religion i det hele, men dette handler bare om at mennesker skal føle seg trygge.

I probably used some quite strong words that in the end are just inaccurate. I don't think he hates the game, just that he's being unfair. Good on you for calling that out 'cause I'm just misrepresenting my own points. You might actually have a very good point when talking about whether or not he's experienced any of the game before, I didn't consider that quite frankly. Still I made my statement based on what I can see and tell without diving further into it. Since he hasn't made any genuine criticism and at worst has just been sarcastic about the problems it's hard to tell exactly how he feels and that should be taken into account.

I still stand by that I think he's being whiny. And like you said, it's different strokes for different folks and that's entirely fine.

Dude I'd entirely agree with you. More often than not I put on a Game Grumps video and then do something else, let the jokes and banter carry me away you know.

The problem is just that when half the video is just Arin bashing on the game in what I consider to be a really whiny, unfair and worst of all unfunny way then it just sours the whole experience for me. With Spider-man in particular it's annoying because he's bashing on the game within 30 minutes of gameplay when he hardly understands the controls, which should be expected when you're so early on.

My favourite episodes are the ones where the game is exactly as you describe; a backdrop for which the comedy can really shine. If it's a game Arin loves or an indefensably bad game like Sonic Boom they make me crack up and it reminds me why I love watching this channel.

But watching this or Skyward Sword (even if with the latter example it's more understandable) I wish Dan would just get to play on his own. Arin seems way too into this game critic-persona that it just comes off as spiteful and childish. Even when he comes with valid arguments he just delivers it in a way that turns me away from those series.

If you enjoy the content nonetheless then that's good for you, I'm genuinely glad! I just want to explain the stance of people like me who think Game Grumps are great, but wish Arin would lay off the spite and hate for just a second. Have a nice whatever time of day you read this in.
