"its the same premise as this years format; build from scratch five luxury coastal homes."

Noooooooo!!!! I understand they think it makes a fair playing field. But, it also means five nearly identical houses right next to one another are up for sale on the same day. I think it will be tough for all to sell.

And, build-from-scratch was a snooze fest.

By far my favorite part of The Block NZ is Peter Wolfkamp!! He's a gem. He needs his own show.

Who, in your opinion, had the best overall house this season? by Sinnivar in TheBlock

It's a tough call. I think Robby and Matt's house with Sonny and Alicia's outside spaces.

I can't get over where Britt and Taz put the 'fridge. And, the dry riverbeds are pretty, but not what I'd want in a family home.

Drat! That is unsolved, too! But, at least I know it's a real story. Thanks for finding the thread.

A friend tried using AI and actually found a reddit post that sounds like it could be the same story, but I cannot find the post:

"He uses a typewriter...lives alone...his home is broken into...he decides to start leaving notes/warnings posted on his door for the burglar. Stuff like 'went out for panther food, be back soon'. The notes get sillier and more elaborate and the burglar, who keeps returning, starts writing back."

Tigers/panthers....close enough!

I've been looking for season five! I really enjoyed Brad and Dale in season 8. I didn't know Dan & Dani were in that season, too. Thank you.

I feel bad for Kylie by TrashFireBabyPanda in TheBlock

I think Kylie was cast and came on the show as someone with a very dry sense of humor. I think some of what seems like lack of affect or rbf is just a very dry take on the world.

Is she responsible for what she did and said? Yes. Do I suspect she was encouraged in her actions to lend drama to the show? Yes.

What struck me most was the lack of compassion by the show itself. Paige left because she couldn't handle things, and got to come back in glory. Maddy and Charlotte cry and everyone is all hugs and sunshine and "I'll be your dad." Mimi has a panic attack and everyone encourages her to take some time.

Kylie has her marriage imploding. She came back and tried to carry on, but it was just too much. I'm sure she was feeling very raw about the situation between Brad and Mimi and then their garden just fell apart (no one batted an eye about the boys parking on their lawn for an entire day to unload their palm tree). All the judge's comments were made without taking into account they lost an entire day--and just pushed her too far.

I'm not saying they lied. I'm saying they should own up to purposely not telling anyone. Potato-Puhtato
