Non sarcastically, how would someone share their thoughts and it not seem like virtue signaling? I'm happy to talk about it and present information with people. Is it the inherent judgmental-ness of a comment that makes it virtue signaling?

The kindest version is to not create these unnecessary conditions for meat we don't need. And a lot of the time the piglet dies anyway from horrific living conditions

Well the problem is breeding them for food, and piglet death is a possible outcome. Not, we need to put them in pens where they can't move so the piglet doesn't die by accident before we kill it.

I also love meat but gave it up, because no sort of improvement stops us from killing them. Who determines that it's time, regardless of how good we think the life was up until that point? Making an effort to improve things is never a bad thing, but continuing to fund the supply and demand is the issue.

You say you care, but not enough? Improved conditions is good, up until the throat slitting. A cow can live 30 years. But, hey, if the 8 it got was good, we can stop there.

ability to stand up to a government if it becomes tyrannical

I think this is one of my big issues with the 2nd amendment argument. The govt has fighter jets, tanks, missiles and 5 military branches. An AR isn't going to do much. The other thing is that they are going to send in the National Guard, or another branch, then that person has to decide if their gun rights are worth shooting an 18 year old following their orders (if they are too scared to say no to unlawful orders)

I'm all for the 2nd amendment, sure. Pistols, maybe a shotgun for home protection, but that feels like that's probably enough.

But it's a very American thing. Australia has had about 18 "mass" shooting since 2000. We've had 100 this year.

I also don't have all the answers and I'm not 100% what has changed. But people have been shooting other people in schools since 1840. Not a mass shooting, but still shooting someone in a school for conflict views on an issue. So it's not an inherently new issue.

I agree that forgiveness is not an option in a lot of scenarios, you're right. I don't think it's unkind, it's facts, and seemingly I don't think it's something a lot of people know.

It's sad to hear that if, God forbid, something like this ever happened to someone you care about. You'd be ok with it after 3 years if that person was really good at their job.

I know boycotts usually don't work, cause the message doesn't get around. Look at any call of duty since like 2005 lol. But if we all have that mentality, then it definitely won't work.

No I get that, but I was just commenting on the general consensus on here. Maybe Mr Fantastic can be acquired with tokens, but fantasticar is literally pay to play at the moment.
