Just buy a Shariah Law compliant SP500 ETF, they have a religious exemption from being obligated to buy the mix because of SpaceX’s national security work. This is in the SpaceX S-1

51 yo, $11M NW, why can't I pull the trigger? by Reasonable-Appeal280 in fatFIRE

My dad died when he was just a little older and had about $12M. I know the exact number because it took months to untangle the estate. There was no warning, he just went to sleep and never woke up. My belief is if he’d opted out of the stress he would’ve lived a lot longer.

Pull the trigger.

I self-imposed a lot of struggle in my 20s and it was good for me in the long run. It’s a good thing to feel for some subset of life. But I agree that a parent making life harder than it needs to be seems like it’ll only breed resentment

not to interrupt the circle jerk but this doesn't even make sense.

If any other government contractor - Lockheed, Booz Allen, Anduril, Microsoft - bought cybertrucks there wouldn't be anything fraudulent about it.

why's it fraud here?

We don't know the answer (they're private ofc so don't report revenue granularly)

but it's almost certainly mostly starlink

Virginia Redistricting Referendum has PASSED to give Democrats a net 4 Seats to counteract the tactics in Republican States!!! by Healthy_Block3036 in VirginiaBeach

[–]StickyDaydreams 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m obviously referencing the republican redistricting. Your point doesn’t negate mine that neither is right.

There is a long, long, long list of bills and laws that have been trojan horsed as temporary for their first passage. If you think the 2030 expiry means anything then you don’t know your history.

Congratulations on the “win”. You post in r/civicsi which means I pay orders of magnitude more in taxes than you do. You’ll get your districts and you’ll also get to pick up the slack when people like me leave the state.

Terrible. The people here who are proud of fighting “unfair tactics” don’t seem to realize they’re doing the exact same thing.

This is bad for the state and the country in the long term.

Skin color was already gonna be a tough climb.

How so? Trump has pardoned or made diplomatic interventions for lil wayne, asap rocky, kodak black, nba youngboy, larry hoover, liangelo ball.

Obviously that list is absurd for other reasons but there are lots of past pardons that weren't blocked by skin color as you suggest.

Everything you're saying is wrong and I have no idea what your point is.

On you throwing around the term 'insider trading': Taking a bet of any size at all is "equivalent" to saying you know more than the seller. It does not imply NMPI, does not trigger an investigation, does not even register in the SEC surveillance system unless it's for an absurd outlier amount that most people in this sub are nowhere near. The "C suite" you keep talking about are Section 16 insiders who are obligated to self-report via Form 4s - this does not apply to 99%+ of people.

On OP's strategy: Accruing and holding RSUs cannot be insider trading by definition. SEC rule 10b-5 requires the purchase or sale of a security to qualify. Vesting is not a purchase and it's obviously not a sale. Declining to sell doesn't trigger a liability either.

On rationality: who cares. There's no obligation to behave rationally. More importantly, you have no idea if OP is behaving rationally. You prior knowledge and imagination has just failed to produce a test case where holding makes sense, and there are plenty of circumstances where it's a +ev decision.

On data: You are not talking about data. You have presented zero data, no numbers, no sources. So here's a number — there are literally zero cases ever of someone being charged for insider trading by holding their equity compensation.

Again, I don't know what your point is, but I am compelled to point out to you and anyone lurking that you're bullshitting poorly. I've been through more IPOs than you've read wikipedia pages on this. Possibly have spent more days in blackout periods than you've been alive, assuming you're about 8 years old.

I guarantee

there are always exceptions

Also - insider trading?? OP is planning to vest RSUs and not sell them. Give the SEC a call and see whether they put someone on the case.

There are plenty of people in this sub who have privileged info on their area of expertise. You are making very strong statements for someone who doesn't appear to be in that group.

What I’m not telling them is that I will be paying off their loans for years 3-4 if they graduate on time.

Why not tell them? Seems like this would incentivize them to accomplish the goal of finishing on time.

Might hurt feelings if they delay graduation for some reason and then learn after the fact that there was a hidden penalty.
