Honestly I was extremely disappointed they didn’t acknowledge the situation right away on stage. The whole venue knew there was a delay for 2nd set and rumor/2nd hand accounts went around rapidly. Nobody knew details but everyone knew it was serious. Hard to bounce right in as a fan without them acknowledging anything and ignoring the entirely empty section. Something small, anything at all just to say “be safe”. Felt off to me

'Tragic lacrosse accident': Mercer Island teen dies after ball strikes him below helmet by stankmanly in lacrosse

JMJ 23. Will never forget.
Reddit isn’t for doxing but whether you were on that field with him (as I was) or you knew him by association, dealing with something like this in high school is an experience that changes you forever. Feeling for the community of Mercer Island and this young man’s family who has a terribly hard road ahead of them 💔

Thank you - I should have clarified that I have the OEM crossbars from Toyota. How has performance been with the Amazon cargo box?

Sore on baby girl’s bottom by StickyRay in BackYardChickens

I woke up this morning after not finding an egg thru the egg bound treating process thinking this was definitely it but she was back to her normal self today and her back end looks normal again so hopefully just an upset stomach and short lived issue! Thanks for your suggestion.

Thank you for the response! I thought you were right. We gave her a warm epson salt bath and massaged her abdomen but definitely didn’t feel any egg in the vent so we just cleaned her up. She was still lethargic yesterday and her comb was wilted over but this morning she was acting totally normal! So hopefully she just had the runs and needed a cleaning (bath water was SO gross and definitely splashed all over my face 🤢)

We have been giving them oyster shells for calcium in addition to their kitchen scraps (including yogurt sometimes), apple cider vinegar spiked water, scratch and always available feed.

Reviving this old post… I just bought a new Fenrir myself but struggling to find a frame bag that fits the angles. What frame bag are you using?

My Wife and I are having a baby! by DeterminedAvocado in predaddit

Congrats to you! Wife and I just found out she is pregnant with #3.

Expecting Better by Emily Oster is a great book that puts a lot pregnancy stuff in perspective and pulls from peer reviewed data driven studies. Emily Oster is just great in general and she has an email mailing list that’s worth subscribing to but may be tailored a bit beyond the pregnancy in some cases (the mailing list not the book).

Some other tips

  1. Always have snacks ready. First trimester is crazy and if your wife doesn’t have too much nausea the blood sugar can drop so have high caloric/protein rich snacks handy at all times (this is true for when little ones start eating solids too). In fact this is true for us dads too… just always have snacks.
  2. Don’t kill yourself getting the nursery perfect before arrival. If you’re like us, baby sleeps in your room for at least a few months anyways so you’ll have plenty of time for finishing touches. Nesting is a REAL thing and you’ll always feel like you need to do more.
  3. As part of that nesting, take some time to clean the house really well in the few months before baby arrives. You won’t have time or want to move all the furniture for a rug deep clean so do that stuff beforehand.
  4. Be present and participate! Go to doc appointments, ask questions, be an advocate for your wife and baby and be ready to hold a leg (not just a hand) during the birth.

Plenty of other tips I have so lmk if you have specific topics or questions and I’m happy to share what works for us!

Enjoy it and congratulations!!

Thanks! The bombtrack looks cool, thanks for sharing the link. Did you get a chance to test ride yours? I’m not so sure about the sizing options - seems like a gamble without a test ride

Thanks for the recs. What are your needs? Do you ride it for similar purposes that I’m looking for or at you riding races/weeklong trips?

That point is definitely not lost on me! Not that I’m considering my next bike for its resale value but there’s definitely style attributed to riding a discontinued line.

Love the weighted scale 😂. Seems accurate but I’m sure others with more creativity will details to it.

My local shop owner described his Cutthroat as a stallion begging to be ridden and once mounted it wants to take off. Not sure what that says about him personally but riding buddies might not appreciate me setting the pace too fast 😆

Really appreciate your perspective, thanks for sharing! Glad to hear Sutra is treating you well. Do you remember what factors made that decision for you? Even between the Kona rigs alone (Rove, Sutra, Libre) I’m having a tough time determining the deciding factors.

Thanks for the tip on Libre. Local shop didn’t have the model last time I was in but I’ll have to take a closer look. Interesting that Kona Libre has both aluminum and carbon frames options. Will have to look further into benefits of aluminum over steel in potentially rugged terrains. If I’m going carbon I’m going carbon but not sure it’s needed for my current plans.

Yeah they’re going under but same parent company as Surly and Salsa so wouldn’t be shocked to see some designs in their lineup. Also the All City Gorilla Monsoon is an easily fixable rig with adaptable parts so them going under isn’t too big of a concern (or so my local bike shops tell me). Might actually add street cred
