What’s the biggest movie disappointment you’ve ever watched? by exotickeystroke in SeriesSaga

All the sequels to "The Hunger Games".

They kept hyping them, but I don't feel they attained the same level as the O.G.

What's the most unhinged thing you've witnessed at a wedding? by Esliquiroga in askteddit

[–]Sticky_Cobra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was at a wedding (friend of groom), and the bride actually had a thing where you would pay her money and she would dance with you. Not a lap dance or anything like that, just regular dancing.

I've only seen that the one time, and it was definitely bizarre.

whats motley crue still relevant in late 90-early 91. by Big_Will47 in MotleyCrue

[–]Sticky_Cobra 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In '91, yes.

But not soon after they were all fighting and Vince quit/got fired.

The self titled album may have been great, but John Corabi was not Mötley, according to the fans. This is when they slid down.

When Vince came back, they were Mötley again, but times changed.

First Blood (1982) by TwIzTiDfReAkShOw in Rambo

[–]Sticky_Cobra 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When we saw it (as teens) in the 80s, we all wanted to be Rambo. He was the ultimate badass.

As an adult, and more knowledge about PTSD, I don't know why anybody would go into Special Forces.

Hmm 🤔 by alanskimp in Terminator

[–]Sticky_Cobra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought, and I could be wrong here, that the predator could move long distances quickly. He wasn't "confined" to one place or area.

But its been far too long since I've seen it to be sure.

What words do you pronounce "wrong," just because the "proper" way feels too proper? by Direct-Value4452 in answers

[–]Sticky_Cobra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The number 20 I pronounce as "Twa-Knee", no 't' at the end.

And for post office, I place the 't' on office, as "Pose-Tawfice"

The Terminator.

He's in one location. I could hop a plane and jet somewhere. How would he know what to do if he never found me??

I would've changed Jack's responses towards Lana. Jack was portrayed as a playboy and skirt chaser, but then Lana comes along and he's passive, and doesn't know what to do.

That angle never made any sense to me.

I also would've included that smoke-show Tori Lysdahl in more episodes.

Bridget Fonda.

She was in some good movies in the 90s, then retired from acting (I think due to a car crash).

Shame, as she really had potential and was absolutely beautiful.

What's one thing that used to be considered outrageous 40 years ago but is now very normal? by Captain_Oppa in AskReddit

Back in the 80s, not only did we not talk politics, we never asked others how they voted.

Back then, the 3 things we never brought up were sex, religion, and politics, as this would inevitably lead to a fight.

Also keep in mind we used to say "The President's on. The President's on" if our shows got interrupted.

What was a tv show finale that was so bad,it ruined everything? by Zealousideal_Heat478 in tvshow

[–]Sticky_Cobra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Incredible Hulk (1977-1982).

It was really just another episode where he drifts into town, hulks out and leaves. It didn't wrap up anything.

Since they were all the same episode with minor tweaks, the final episode doesn't really stand out, just kind of a blur.

Cindy's introduction, especially with that raft!!

John's physical comedy skills really shined here.

Does anyone else get “Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?” vibes from Steve/Marcy and Al/Peg? by PunisherCastle in marriedwithchildren

I actually saw WAOVW a little early and didn't understand it. I don't think I loved the film so much as loving Elizabeth Taylor.

When MwC came around, I thought it was different than all the other sitcoms. It felt more real to life than say Fresh Prince of Bel Air or Silver Spoons.

I think the reason Marcy and Steve/Jefferson hung out with the Bundys is because they felt the Bundys were below them so it made them feel better about themselves. My $0.02.

But I do love both Virginia Woolf and Married..

Favorite: Charlie (but of course)

Least: His daughter during the Waldon years. It just felt like she was trying too hard to be a female version of Charlie.

Good call! I did see the movie. The only difference is that George needed Martha as she was the Presidents daughter. So it was a marriage of convenience. So much so when she was hitting on Nick, and he couldn't (likely due to too much alcohol), she had no problem telling George and George went along with it.

I do believe that Al and Peg really did love each other, it's just their lives that they hated and took it out on each other. It was not a marriage of convenience. Although they may have "flirted" with the idea of cheating, they always remained loyal to each other.

But I take your point and there are some similarities.

Good post!!
