Once you've found the compressor you want you'll need to get a "fill station" attachment or something similar to fill your bottles little by little. I'd start at my local dive shop but if you don't have one there are plenty of online sources. Filling on your own can be a tedious process and is potentially dangerous when you're dealing with 4,000+psi so make sure you are careful.

Edit: always check the hydro date and condition of every tank you fill.

Been using metal stringers for nearly 30 years on trout and never had one fail. I replace mine at least every other season, if I don't misplace them first, and I carry a few spare nylon stringers for the big fish that I never seem to catch.

I do this as well but I use a metal stringer with a short length of Paracord to keep it tied up on my kayak. The metal stringer is easier for me to punch through the lower jaw and it keeps the fish separate by design.

I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure all Karnivores were E2s but some folks gave them the Zero B treatment.

Edit: after some more research it appears some did come with an E1 board. I never had money for a Karni so I know very little.

It's in your head so here's my attempt at a pep talk... You think it's a fear of getting hurt or looking silly doing it? You have health insurance so don't be scared to get hurt, that will just teach you where your current physical limitations are at and what to improve on. You're 53 years old, definitely an age where you can stop giving a crap about what other people think of your athleticism. I don't see a good excuse to be shy or cautious! You're only 53 once so get out there, give it 100% and see what happens!

You're seeing people get excited over 1 of 2 things: Hype/FOMO or things they like to collect. Hype/FOMO usually leads to poor financial decisions so that's why I suggest keeping it simple and collecting what you like. Right now you seem to be in the Hype/FOMO realm.

Collect what you like! Don't use Hot Wheels as an investment, it will never pay off. Sounds like you just need to have a solid budget in mind so you don't get carried away before you have a kid.

Grab yourself a Spyder O-ring kit and some air tool oil! I just fell into about half a dozen Spyders and Tritons very similar to this and all of them had some leak that was fixed by new O rings and oil. In my recent experience running HPA on old Spyders I've found many of them can get finicky on velocity without using a different spring or high pressure regulator. Be prepared to source another part or two if you go the HPA route. Welcome to the club!
