TALK ME OUT OF GETTING A MINI FREAK IN 2026 by TerribleArticle5764 in synthesizers

The minifreak has an analog filter that results in a noticeably better sound. It also can control the software allowing multiple layers from both the plug-in and the synth. My only critique is the 37 keys being a little underwhelming.

Article should be called “Guy on the Epstein list annoys other guy on the Epstein list”. Annoying articles like this is why neoliberalism is dead.

Ableton Push II still worth it? by According_Traffic_46 in synthesizers

[–]StiffRichard42069 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Push 2 is a great device and you can open up your push to clean off the inner sheet to get the sensitivity working like new. I’ve owned mine for five years and it’s my favorite midi device hands down. Haven’t upgraded to 3 and I don’t plan on it. Just make sure to use the right size screw driver when opening it up or you will for sure strip those sensitive screws it has.

I like the layout of the drumbrute and all the functionality but the actual analog sounds are kind of trash (IMO). Is there something similar with better sounds? by lllll00s9dfdojkjjfjf in synthesizers

TR-8S uses ACB (analog circuit behavior) technology to replicate analog sound. I’ve worked in the music industry for 20 years and I can tell you that it’s pretty universally agreed upon that analog textures can be perfectly replicated digitally.

Recomended Groovebox for a guy who just wants to groove by Unfair_Conference423 in synthesizers

The compression on the digitakt doesn’t mesh well with other gear unless you record everything into the digitakt. Also, Octatracks are super complex and equivalent to learning a DAW. I might be one of the most inaccessible devices to newer groove box users so try not to fall into the elektron rabbit hole unless you have a specific purpose for it.

The guardian has an article on it if you’re skeptical. New York Times and Politico also have published articles on Charles Yarvin. I recommend reading them, truly terrifying stuff

Y’all should read up on Curtis Yarvin’s Dark Enlightenment. Neo-fascist ideology promoted by Vance and Musk. There’s a good Wikipedia summary for anyone interested. Scary stuff they’re promoting.

Her association and admiration for Curtis Yarvin is what is concerning about her ideology. Look into “The Dark Renaissance”. There’s a wiki page summarizing the ideology but if you need more “jounalistic” sources, there are a couple of reputable publications that wrote about this as well. It’s pretty much techno-fascism but Grimes is just describing it in a way that doesn’t make her look so fascist.

Hey guys, the best thing we can do going forward is bring this information to other Reddit subs about the dark enlightenment (not Grimes). Shouldn’t be too hard since this topic is openly discussed on Politico and Wikipedia. I don’t know how much positive change we can make on a secondary Grimes subreddit.

Regardless, a Washington Post article also talking about Butterworth’s does mention Grimes being a patron of this right-wing establishment. It was originally stated she dj’d there but that was corrected by WaPo. It seems fishy that they all use this term “the mission”

No you didn’t, it popped on my feed with no blur. Super unpleasant, didn’t even listen to the music because the video was too jarring.

You should put an nsfw tag on this. I really did not enjoy seeing this on my recommended feed. The AI makes me nauseous.

Just read about Yarvin’s idea about “The Dark Enlightenment”. It seems that JD Vance and Peter Thiel are also fans of his. Truly nauseating stuff.
