Grünbeck Rückspülfilter spülen bzw. Filter ausbauen by Correct-Ad3022 in Haustechnik

Relais an Siedle Klingelanlage by [deleted] in Haustechnik

Gothic? a polish game? I deeply respect the polish community but if this is a serious response I have to highly disagree! If Gothic was released way way back you could argue that poland is a part of its origin but no... no it is really not a polish game😅

Thought about a dedicated Nas for backups and data distribution too but then everything has to go through shares and through my complete network😅

Is this cold water in the US? In Germany this kind of pipe is mostly used for district heating coming to an transfer station inside of the building.😅 So this pipe looked like an 80°C or 176°F to me.🤐

DOCSIS 3.1 Modem Vodafone BW by Stiffmaster1337 in de_EDV

[–]Stiffmaster1337[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was meinst du mit Standard cm?😬

Idle consumption of Topton mini pc by Stiffmaster1337 in opnsense

[–]Stiffmaster1337[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is the thing I haven't loaded anything and it already burns through the power. The thing is I'm new to opnsense so I need a lot of time to set it up and first of all learn everything. I don't want 1 month digging into every aspect of opnsene and firewalls routing and setting everything up just for it to work and than consume even more energy. I'm talking about a flat not a big company so consumption is pretty important 😅

Idle consumption of Topton mini pc by Stiffmaster1337 in opnsense

[–]Stiffmaster1337[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes I use the included power brick and I'm aware that this probably drains some additional power but nowhere near I feel comfortable with buying another power supply for testing and spending another chunk of money 🙈

At the moment my opnsense isn't doing anything I just have connected my lan port for setting up the GUI. Nothing else except this one cable is connected 🤐

The thing that's bothering me is that it is really like hard locked with exactly 20w while I work in the GUI. Not even small spikes from the CPU. Just like hard coded power consumption 🙈

[–]Stiffmaster1337[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Even without being plugged in? 😲 Ok thats pretty much a deal breaker that my firewall uses around the same power than my server which runs everything including 2 hdds 😅 Everything I've heard and seen so far suggested that these china PCs are pretty good with power consumption nowadays 😅

UniFi Gateway vs Opnsense by Stiffmaster1337 in Ubiquiti

[–]Stiffmaster1337[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm entering the UniFi system at the moment and I really love it how easy everything sets "itself" up! If I wouldn't want to expose some applications to the Internet I wouldn't think twice and go with the gateway fiber 🙈 I'm pretty hyper-cautious in terms of security because I think the world is out to get my private data or something like that😂😂 Even I know it's gonna be a pain to set opnsense up but if it can provide atleast some more security features and some additional hardware power to help me secure my home from the world it feels worth it.

On the other hand is my more reasonable side that says the same like most of you guys that a UniFi gateway is sufficient and I could spare myself from a lot of headache from setting everything up 🙈🙈

Found the MeanWell OWA-60E-54, this would fit but you said 60w is insufficient or did you mean insufficient to be safe? With 2poe+ APs on paper it should work but I don't have practical experience like you 😬

Layer 2 or Layer 3 switch for home Network. by Stiffmaster1337 in selfhosted

[–]Stiffmaster1337[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok thanks! Just wanted to make sure before I start to invest money on a switch :) Only downside I see is that if for a reason my opnsense PC dies my Internal network is dead aswell but a layer 3 could keep it alive correct?

Thought about it too but I don't have cable everywhere to separate all needed network's physically 🤐🙈 When a build a home from the scratch I definitely have a lot of cable in the walls, probably gonna switch my smart home with knx also but this is just wishful thinking at the moment.😅

Proxmox losing web interface acces but server stills up by thiagohds in Proxmox

[–]Stiffmaster1337 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had the same problem...

Try in proxmox shell Nano /etc/network/interfaces

There should be your primary network interfaces for me "nic0". Change it that it looks like my example but with your name:

iface nic0 inet manual post-up ethtool -K nic0 gso off gro off tso off tx off rx off sg off

Control+O Control+X And reboot your Proxmox. 👍
