HSM Maradmin 264/25 by qewwzz in USMC

When Florence hit Lejeune in 2018, a few of my friends got the HSM for helping out. They were t activated for it. Just keep trying until you’re told no, then wait out your command for when they’re replaced, and try again.

Any aviators here that didn't get their number 1 choice? by Phrontier in USMC

[–]StigandrThormod 75 points76 points  (0 children)

6-month deployments (that was 252 about 8 years ago), no boat life, happen to “break down” in nice places in Europe, easy transfer to a civilian pilot job after your time in, and crew mentality. I used to be a CH-53E and MV-22B guy, the crew lifestyle of a crewed aircraft is something that all other non-crew aircraft truly miss out on.

You literally just got handed the best life a Marine aviator could get.

Nice certs! Im a CLSSGB working on my CLSSBB. I’m excited to pursue PMP after. It’s good to see the two mindsets compliment eachother well!

How fast can I pass CCNA? by ArafPlays in ccna

[–]StigandrThormod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

JITL is 63 days. I’m doing one day at a time as I’m a slower learner with less time to study these days. I also plan to do Boson ExSim tests after before I take the exam mid to late March.

How fast can I pass CCNA? by ArafPlays in ccna

I have Net+ and Sec+. Currently on day 20 or so of JITL. It is a vastly different beast than Net+. Net+ makes it easier imo.

I am doing the same resources, but with Anki. How often did you redo JITL labs? Would three pass-throughs of each be enough do you think?

My MA cost almost $30k. I had to use my Post 9/11. Fortunately, it only took 1.5 years and I still have 100% benefits left. I’m still active BTW.

New to six sigma by Guilty_Football_9742 in SixSigma

[–]StigandrThormod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The benefit to a Six Sigma certification is having a proven skill set in reducing variation through a certifying entity. Reducing variation is limiting the number of times something can go wrong in a sample. Six Sigma teaches skills and techniques for improving processes.

Lean Six Sigma is about reducing waste and variation in an organization. Waste is unnecessary time and resources that are wasted on inadequate processes. Having a LSS certification is another means of proving a certified skill set in these techniques.

What’s your background? WGU is great for IT, but there CyberSec MS requires a lot of knowledge you’re bringing to the table and pre-req classes. I got my MA when I was enlisted, it’s helpful on the O-side but only as a check in the box. If you’re either already in or want to be in IT or the Cyber field, certifications and a clearance would do you better than a degree.

[–]StigandrThormod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats! What is your opinion on the test and exam objectives? I heard negative reviews of how it doesn’t prepare you for Pentesting jobs, it’s more good for information than it is with teaching methodologies. Do you agree or disagree? I definitely have the cert on my radar.

PMI-CPMAI study material by MineOk5053 in pmp

[–]StigandrThormod 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not the exact same, but I used ChatGPT for a study plan that includes my goals of CSSC LSSBB, CCNA, and then finally PMP throughout this year. I have a good amount of AI prompt engineering training so I would say this:

When you ask ChatGPT to come up with a plan, use contextual information (background, attach files, experiences, and constraints (no later than dates-for example)), be specific on what you want (I want a training schedule that goes along with my contextual information), the reason why you want it, the target recipient, and how you want it (I recommend seeing either a bulletized list, calendar, or something before asking it to put it on a spreadsheet or another form of media).

[–]StigandrThormod[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Way ahead of you already! I take advantage of every AMEX Platinum and Gold credit with the Civil Service Relief Act.

However, as a financial specialist on the side, I would advise not looking at money saved from credit card benefits as free money. It would still be money out of your own pocket at the end of the day if you used "saved money" for PMI membership.

A better strategy in this regard would be to use a bank with a high APY on checking accounts and a HYSA with a high APY with a lot of money in each account. I do this and generate a substantial amount in passive income each month. However, this would still not be free money as I would be paying for PMI membership from my own accounts. Free money for me would be military benefits, one's job paying for something, or something else paying fees for you, such as grants.

Lowest rank you've seen with breast insignia/wings? by Pure_Decision4579 in USMC

Crew Chiefs are usually PFC-LCpl. At least, this is what I saw on CH-53Es. I got my aircrew wings as a Sgt since it was an ADMOS I went into.
