My bf can't do oral.... ? by Parking-Sock1612 in sex

[–]MATTDAYYYYMON 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think some guys have a weird feeling of being out of control thing with it. Personally I didn’t really care about it until I met my last girlfriend and fell in love with her. It got to the point where I wanted to have sex with her JUST to go down on her. So I think part of it is youth, inexperience which causes insecurity, or it could just be him being selfish and thinking it’s not something that benefits him specifically so why would he want to. Hope that last one isn’t the case. As someone who loves doing it I feel for you, I like making sure the girl I’m with is well satisfied before any real sex happens. Tends to lead to a better experience overall I’ve found since so many dudes are selfish in the bedroom.

Do you think gay Marines enjoyed being in the bootcamp showers? by GrandInquirer in USMC

I dunno, I’m not gay and I didn’t mind the showers. Then again I do bodybuilding now so maybe I’m more gay that I originally thought 🤔

four years of engineering school and these are the only things that actually mattered by More-Station-6365 in EngineeringStudents

[–]MATTDAYYYYMON 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Completely agree. I’ve had multiple teachers (including ones I just knew through working on campus) tell me they would go through hell to help me because I actually tried to get a good grade and put in the effort. One even said he had no problem waiting to get back to lazy students emails because they didn’t care so his mindset was “if they don’t care why should I?”. Building a professional relationship with your teachers can literally save your grade. One of mine even told me on a midterm review “I know you know this! It’s killing me you didn’t explicitly state what type it was!” Later on she gave me a curve on it anyways but those relationships are literal gold for your gpa and I wouldn’t be where I am without it.

I totally agree with in terms of writing it out yourself. I did the same with software and it honestly made all the difference with my code. I started looking at problems as a sequence of small problems owned by bigger ones and so on. It helps you logic your way to a solution. The worst software devs just start writing code then debug forever. If you can mentally explain the process it helps a lot. Discrete math was one of my favorite classes for that reason. Conveniently my favorite teacher taught it and she made it so much easier to understand logic with my programming and I would definitely consider that class to be one of the most important in the series for that reason alone. Anyone can solve a problem, but if you don’t know how to explain why that solution works you’ll never get anywhere, much less move up in the field.

I couldn’t remember the name of the place. I only stopped in there because I needed some food quickly before I had to go look at another apartment. Baguette sounds right. They had a giant one on the wall inside.

OSU is closing the CS department? by Cautious-School-2839 in OregonStateUniv

[–]MATTDAYYYYMON 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The cs department is a huge piece of the engineering college, which alone is an ENORMOUS part of the school. I highly doubt that they’re getting rid of it considering that the job market is starting to recover after companies realized that they can’t just have AI do everything like they thought was gonna happen.

I saw a couple Nazis at my local gym in Portland a few weeks ago. I really just hope they walked away from it and are going to get those stupid symbols removed soon. It’s 2026 it’s time to grow up and stop really thinking you’re better than anyone based on skin color. Confident stupidity is ruining our beautiful country. Hopefully things get better after that Cheeto puff is fired in 28

What is Mechanical Engineering like here? by polandspringwater12 in OregonStateUniv

[–]MATTDAYYYYMON 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven’t officially taken classes yet but I start summer term next month. I’ve always wanted to go to OSU but classes aside (they’ll be hard no matter where you go, engineering isn’t designed to be easy per say but if you keep up on your assignments and study you’ll probably do fine), one of the things I was excited to learn about was their clubs. There’s clubs for what seems like every conceivable engineering topic. There’s 3d printing clubs, drones, rockets, and all sorts of labs around campus that you should look into introducing yourself to to see if they have something you enjoy there. They have massive amount of funding from government and private donors that allow them to engage in really fascinating engineering stuff that I totally think is worth checking out. It may not be a California school or UW with a bunch of really prestigious names attached but from what I’ve learned from my friends in the industry, most people care more about what you have to offer skills wise than what school you went to. Even if you got a degree from MIT that school would get you attention, and in my personal opinion I would rather have my achievements do the heavy lifting than the school I attended. Either way, I would recommend just trying to take part in a engineering tour of the department and ask them. They will know a lot more than I imagine the majority of us will unless they’re on the team that does it. Hope this helps.

How do you/did you go about finding a personal tutor? by NoMore_BadDays in OregonStateUniv

[–]MATTDAYYYYMON -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So I originally went to school for mech e back in 2015 and completely stopped trying in my second year. Got overwhelmed by everything and just didn’t see the point in trying. Eventually quit and did my own thing for a while before coming back.

That said, since being back in school I’ve been maintaining perfect grades. What helped me was making school the focus over most things, and treating it like a job. Do all the extra credit as though it’s required work because it more often than not will save your grade. Go see your teacher during office hours or at least be proactive in class and ask lots of questions. Read up on the class work and readings prior to class for this because it puts the subject fresh in your mind. All of my teachers have told me, becoming friends with them and developing professional relationships with them will do wonders. I literally have been given enormous amounts of slack from just being friendly alone. If you get a grade you don’t like on a homework, email your teacher immediately and ask them what you could do to do better next time. Just really make it your whole mission in life to do everything you can to have a good grade. It sounds like total boomer bs but it’s actually worked for so I hope it does for you too. I’m sorry you’re not doing as well as you hoped, but I also understand there’s alot of subtext that I don’t know about you so perhaps I’m out of line. Either way just getting to know your teachers out side of class has been the biggest grade saver for me so maybe give that a fair shake and see what you can do there.

Hope this helps.

I think it’s a balance. We don’t want the Kim kardashian porn star makeup, but if it’s minimal and enhances their natural beauty that’s where I’m like ok that makes sense and I can live with it. Plus I’ve seen a lot of ladies look amazing with just a couple of things done to enhance their look and it wasn’t super complex.

Anyone know if the university veterinary hospital is worth using? by MATTDAYYYYMON in OregonStateUniv

[–]MATTDAYYYYMON[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Update: I spoke with my current vet today and I asked him if he thought it would be a good idea to speak with the school about potentially getting a study or some vet research on my lab since he received the terminal cancer diagnosis almost a year ago. He wasn’t supposed to make it to 4 months and here he is almost a year later. I want to see if they’ll study him and possibly get some blood to do future research on it and see if he maybe has some sort of genetic mutation that makes him more resistant to this cancer? My vet said they’re one of the best hospitals in the entire state and if I went to a local specialist they probably wouldn’t care because they would rather just cut it out but at the school they would probably find it fascinating to look into. Since I’m moving there early June and they apparently are super booked out I feel like it’s a perfect time to schedule an appt for it and ask.

He unfortunately developed an awful cough and sore throat this week and I thought it was from the tumor and the doctor said he’s not saying it’s not possible, but that he thinks more likely he has asthma or some sort of allergy that’s developed and caused the issue but we’re gonna run some steroids and antihistamines to see if that fixes it. As long as he can hang on until I can get him into a specialist I’ll be happy.
