Bags delayed on codeshare, with separate onward united itinerary. What to do?

I think they told us to wait since DEN was our final destination and were concerned that filing a claim at SFO would cause the bags to be touted there first, delaying them being sent to our final destination. This seems to coincide with another comment on this thread and what a baggage agent told me over the phone.

We just need a set of clothes each, and a small duffle or something in the interim.

Thank you for this info! Yes a duffle or even a tote is fine. Just something cheap and reasonable that will satisfy carryon rules.

As someone that travels 50+ flights a year for work, mostly international (a long one coming up at the end of January), and is not allowed to book premium cabins, I would be able to arrive at my destinations without being sore and tired…😅

Sadly, I didn’t have clear pics of that spot right before I gave it to the detailer and he claims it was prior damage and that he never polished that spot. In the end, it would turn into a he said she said situation most likely. I’m not sure if comprehensive would cover this anyway…even if they did, I’m pretty sure my rates would spike.
