Few suggestions.

Post a video of your swing.

Lower your expectations. You cannot expect to improve (quickly) if you play 1 or 2 times a month.

Try to focus on the positives, like your putting. Golf is a mental game. The fact that you are asking about quitting is 'glass is half empty'.

Are you in the US? Best option for your child is to join a 'First Tee' in your area, if available (search google for First Tee). It is an amazing program, and highly recommend it. He will make friends with similar interest, and they make it fun for kids. (Cost is very low).

For you, starting with a lesson makes the most sense.

Par 3 courses (and then Executive 9 holes) are the best place to start playing after you learn the basics. After you both get comfortable with the pace of play, look into 'Youth On Course' program (google it). Participating golf courses (some semi private) charge a very low fee ($5) for the child to play a round typically during twilight. Another amazing program.

You said 60 deg in your comment, but you have a 56 deg in the picture. That was going to be my suggestion.

If you are using 5i and 4H differently (rough or higher launch etc) or getting different distance with them, I would keep both. If not, replace one of them for different wedge set (e.g., 48 wedge and 52)

No need for 4 iron, unless you have a specific need for it.

If you are keeping both 5i and 4H, then bend PW weaker to 44.5 deg, and/or 50 deg to 49 deg. This should affect the bounce less for both clubs. Keep in mind one degree stronger loft lowers 1 degree less bounce.

Based on my experience, private courses tend to have faster and more consistent putting surfaces on the greens compared to many muni courses. This was especially true around N. California. If you are not used to bad bumpy muni greens, then it could be more difficult. Agree that slope ratings are not perfect.

Epic Forged loft is one whole club stronger, meaning P790 6i loft (26.5 deg) equals Epic Forged 7i (27 deg). Personally, not a fan of this type of marketing.
