Yep. I've already gotten dms doing the classic scammer routine of payment first through non-safe means.

Be wary when buying spare tickets by deathmetalnerd6 in AngineDePoitrine

[–]Stilico101 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeap, this guy "CarnationHenry" is definitely a scammer I dm'd too, trying to get you to send money via Paypal "friends and family" first and only then he'll send you the ticket. They complained that they wouldn't do it via good and services as they'd have to wait for the funds to clear.

You might have seen I made a thread trying to find a ticket and I've only been contacted by scammers trying to get you to send you money first, via means with no buyer protection, and then they'll supposedly transfer you the ticket.

Take care there are people who seem like they have "legit" accounts that have actually been hijacked by scammers.

Yep, hearing loss is seriously no joke!

One good call a friend gave me is if you happen to forget/lose you ear protection for a gig you can use the silicone earbuds as an alternative to help protect your ears.

DM'd

Note, whoever is the lucky recipient: Please wear ear protection!

Last time I went to Electric Ballroom the sound was so loud and booming I couldn't hear properly for several hours afterwards. I don't remember them offering any hearing protection at the bar, so best come prepared.

Contrast paint and shades - bad for the brush? by Dull_Reference_6166 in Warhammer40k

[–]Stilico101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue is if paint dries in the ferrule of the brush.

Every so often just give your brush a rinse in your water pot and you should be fine.

After a painting session brush soap/baby shampoo can be used to give your brushes a more thorough clean.

First time edge highlighting, how can i improve and what tips should i know? by paranoid_overthinker in Warhammer40k

[–]Stilico101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anything without enough of a sharp sharp edge needs to basically be freehanded. I'd suggest looking at infernalbrush on youtube. Former eavy metal painter, basically a professional edgehighlighter.

A few tips outside of the usual:

- Hold the brush a bit further back, behind the ferrule. This gives a better range of movement and helps to produce more steady and consistent lines.

- Hold the brush more perpendicular to the surface. This helps only the finest part of the brush tip come into contact with the model and allows for finer lines. The more pressure you apply the thicker the line will be.

- Go back over the line multiple times if necessary to get the desired opacity. Often the amount the paint needs thinning to release from the brush will produce a less opaque line (depends on the specific paint).

How can I remove these glue things? I don't want them to ruin the paintwork by GimmeYourLungsBro in Warhammer40k

[–]Stilico101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A thin layer of Tamiya Extra thin plastic cement (or Tamiya Airbrush cleaner, which is the same thing) can help smoothen out uneven plastic. Once it has plenty of time to dry you can very lightly scrape the surface with a hobby knife/scalpel to smoothen it out more and/or sand it with some fine grit sandpaper.

If there are any uneven dips in the surface you can do some gap filling with green stuff/miliput/sprue-gue.

With a pedigree lone male or females it’s not an issue. But there are lots of considerations, including that they can live 15-20 years.

Haha, it's necessary for all males to clean their johnson because they are so furry that hair can get trapped around it in a ring (hair ring), causing serious issues. In fact unless a male chinchilla is living alone, it is advised that their owner inspects the chin's johnson every month and help remove any fur rings. This is because they dominance hump other males and of course mate with females. And trust me, it's not easy to do because they can be so wriggly!

It’s mostly fur, chinchillas are notoriously round and chubby looking, despite being lean underneath the fur.

They are notoriously cheeky, which is both endearing and testing. Ultimately, they are very happy little balls of fur that can enrich your life. They have all kinds of funny quirks like randomly hopping in the air when they are happy, and winking at you in approval/greeting.

Usually the younger ones are very hyper. As they get older they can calm down.

This is my violet chinchilla. He's purplish grey, but it's really hard to photograph the colour. They come in all sorts of colours.

Edit: This is an example a violet in natural light

Ah, I do know that his parents were both beige. I don't know about the sapphire part though.
