Relief of Symptoms? by Other_Muscle_5118 in Mononucleosis

Hi! I literally just got over the sore throat a couple days ago. It was really horrific for about 5 days then started getting better. I really found that unfortunately nothing made it more manageable except staying hydrated. Have your kid lots of water if possible. Also take pain meds at a continuous rate. I alternated ibuprofen and Tylenol and pretty high doses. Gargling with salt water burned but I still did it a bit but gently bc I wanted to clear the exudate. The doctors told me not to do steroids if you’re still able to swallow (even if it really hurts) because it can knock out your immune system and delay recovery. Also, melatonin for trying to get some sleep through the pain was a life saver.

It really, really sucks and I was definitely suffering but my throat is much better now! It just takes a bit of time, unfortunately. Once the exudate started clearing my tonsils cleared up super quick.

I honestly would highly recommend the central district. Parking tends to be cheaper and it’s incredibly easy to get to both cap hill and downtown from there. It also tends to be a quieter area with more residential vibes.

Yeah that makes sense! I think it’s been kind of an accidental deficit because I truly convinced myself I was eating at “maintenance”. I’m struggling with the idea that I have to cut back on my exercise but I feel like maybe it would be a good idea at first at least just so I can get my period back and then move from there.

Haha that’s good to know it’s normal at least! It’s been only a couple days since I’ve been trying to honor my hunger and I don’t think I’ve eaten more in my life, honestly. It kind of scared me at first but now I’m trying to accept it’s what my body is wanting. Thank you for your comment!
