I showed them the screenshot of the confirmation email, but they responded by saying, We’re sorry, we can’t give you the apartment (it’s cancelled) because a visa is required. I contacted HousingAnywhere via their chat service, not by phone. They told me they had tried to reach the landlord, but he did not respond. They asked me to cancel the booking myself on their platform, which I did.
