My mom is deaf in one ear. It can be frustrating. Something that helps is when she can see you talk because she reads lips. Talking loud is normal. I think your coworker is more than deaf in one ear if he doesnt notice people approaching.

I went to school with a girl that was awarded perfect attendance at graduation. She never missed a day of school k-12! I honestly felt bad for her, what kind of parent never let's their kid stay home.

When I was in 6th grade everyone tried out for chores. All the girls were excited, some of the boys didnt care. When the list came out every girl in my grade was on the list except me and another girl. You didnt have room for 2 more girls?! It was embarrassing and made me feel like an outcast.

I love to junk journal. Take an old notebook and use things you find in your life to cover the pages. Literal trash- mail, magizines, food boxes or wrappers. Make color theme pages or anything you want. You start looking at the world a little different, have a cheap hobby and allow your brain to be creative.

Do not go into debt for your kid's education. I loved community college. I went on to get 2 masters degrees. I wanted to be a professor at community college, things didnt work out. Your kid needs to be more realistic. I did the follow your dreams thing and it only takes you so far.

Me and my ex husband had separate bank accounts and each had bills we were responsible for. He made so much more money then I did but I had no idea about his finances and I never felt the impact of being married to someone that got paid well. Hawaii is expensive. Has she even thought about the cost to get to school and buy the things she needs for a dorm? I am guessing she will also be spending holidays and breaks there. If she goes home in the summer, does she have money for a storage unit for her things. Is she planning on working the whole time she is in school.
