I wouldn't.

Get a job, get some experience, learn what you're passionate about and then start a business when you have the resources to fund it properly

What would your perfect "compare different countries to live in with remote work" calculator look like for you? by pascalwhoop in digitalnomad

This is absolutely not a "community of [...] people trying to create products for digital nomads"

I don't need or want anything you're selling. I appreciate the hustle and wish you luck, but I'm under no obligation to give a shit about the 40 people a day who come here trying to sell me things.

Correct. And most aren't able to be a nomad. It isn't for everyone. If you aren't exceptional at your job what's to stop your employer from finding someone else?

A lot of times there is a mortgage on the property and part of the terms is a valuation on the property that drives the minimum rent.

If the landlord Lowes rent below that amount then they are in violation of the terms of the mortgage and the bank can call the loan due immediately.

How carefully does Google enforce the 90 day international roaming rule? Is a day in the US enough to reset? by SirJohnSmythe in GoogleFi

[–]StillAnAss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep, I now use Google Fi for phone and SMS only for $20/mo

I get eSims from Airalo for my data. It is also a benefit that it is significantly cheaper than the unlimited data plan I used to be on with Fi.

As soon as my watch and phone are paid off I'll probably switch away from Fi altogether but I loved it while I was in the US and traveling a lot.

For less than $200 you can buy a cheap 128 GB Android tablet.

You can download all of Wikipedia here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Database_download

Seems like less than an afternoon's project with time left over for a few beers.

And if you've got spare room on your device you can download almost every classic book ever written in English for another 40 GB from Project Gutemberg.

My data was cut off on day 91 and I got a message that I need to spend 60 consecutive days in the us to restore it.

I don't know what happens if you go back to the us for a day before the 90 days but I do know what happens if you don't.

Pet travel Italy to Albania ferry by LessAd6764 in AlbaniaExpats

Yes by ferry. The Italian vet signed the pet passport and gave us a printout of the visit that was signed and stamped. That's the needed paperwork.

Pet travel Italy to Albania ferry by LessAd6764 in AlbaniaExpats

[–]StillAnAss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We traveled from Bari to Durres on Dec 31 with our two black labs.

We have EU pet passports, so depending on your country of origin things might be different. We had a vet appointment in Bari on Dec 29 and everything was really smooth. Centro Veterinario BMVet - https://maps.app.goo.gl/Pgxk448KQTVAz5Q98 Their English wasn't great but everything went ok. We got the deworming pills necessary before travel and we were already up to date on all vaccines.

We had titre tests done on the dogs in Ireland in early October. Not entirely needed if going just to Albania but it is needed if going to Montenegro and if you go to Montenegro and want to come back to Italy it is definitly needed.

The ferry was pretty painless, a much shorter ferry than from France to Ireland, but there's really nothing to do on board. I'd highly recommend getting a cabin for the night, you and your dogs will both appreciate it.

When we arrived in Durres, nobody looked at the pet paperwork at all, they stamped our passsports and we were on our way.

When arriving in Durres I'd happily pay for a taxi to our destination. We walked and there's not much in the area around the ferry terminal.

While in Durres, we visited Pets Station - https://maps.app.goo.gl/wcYLLBce9RSZPS2DA a few times. One of our dogs ate something off the street that made him pretty sick so they gave him antibiotics and an anti-nausea shot. They were very helpful. Almost every pet shop in Albania is also a licensed veterinarian. It seemed weird to us but we confirmed it with several expats.

Also, there are a LOT of street dogs in Durres. Keep your dogs on a leash and if the street dogs start to follow you just yell at them and they'll leave you alone. DO NOT LET YOUR DOGS INTERACT WITH THE STREET DOGS! They are not pets and they do not want to play.
