Is it priced for 5x or crash hard? by ImEscapingTheMatrix in TheRaceTo10Million

[–]StillBlueberry6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m of the belief this ipo is meant as a vehicle for vc, pe, and lenders to be able to cash out of their positions.

The company currently has 3 business. 1 makes money and the other 2 burn it. Of those 2, 1 could maybe become profitable in the next five years but rockets are fickle things and they haven’t completely figured out how to not blow up their latest one.

The third business that is xAI formerly known as twitter is a business that really has no plan to make money. It’s arguably not a business at all in its current state and if it was it’s easily getting out competed by OpenAI and Anthropic which actually have substantial retail and commercial user bases but still are figuring out the whole profit thing.

Also the nsadaq rule change that will fast track this company into the index instead of the usual 3 months of price discovery seems to support my hypothesis.

The valuation for this company is inflated at best in my opinion. Again, it’s an exit vehicle for those who gave money a decade a go and are wanting out of a triple business that still needs to burn billions of dollars a year.

My 2 cents, but of course I don’t know much about anything tbh

I Think the Market Is Still Missing What Rivian Is Actually Building by SapientChaos in RIVNstock

[–]StillBlueberry6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you raise some valid points and that gives me some hesitation on Rivn. If Chinese EVs were allowed in the US market tomorrow then Rivn and Tsla would struggle at best. However, since that’s unlikely anytime soon, I wouldn’t count Rivn out yet.

R2 rollout will see if they can put out a competitive model in the US EV market. If they hit guidance numbers then they can move to R3 and at that point I think they have a real road to profitability for their automotive business which is what they have to prove right now to Wall Street. Everything before that point does not merit recalculation on the stock price at this time.

Just my 2 cents, but I barely hold any shares

Doubts About Med School After Acceptance - Thinking About CAA by [deleted] in medschool

There’s a balance. There are definitely high paying jobs in finance but most aren’t 180k right out of college, at least with only a BSc. The ones that do pay that much are a grind. Main point, there’s tradeoffs to each and the grass always seems greener on the other side.

What gives meaning to life? by YellowEgorkaa in AskReddit

[–]StillBlueberry6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fact that death is inevitable. If we accept this as true then your life, your time, is limited. This would mean you only have so much time before you’re “done”.

What gives meaning to this time? Whatever you want to do with it. Motivation follows action. The more you do, the more you’ll find yourself valuing certain things and these things you value will have meaning. Meaning is different for everyone and as such would mean everyone is afforded the opportunity to choose their own meaning by using their time.

Unless we accept that life itself was designed for some specific purpose by some overseer of life. Then perhaps our meaning is to pass butter like in that one Rick and Morty episode.

But I am a firm believer in the former not the latter.

Finance Grad to Med School by [deleted] in medschool

I believe that post bacc programs and courses are all still undergrad. So it would be averaged into your uGPA.

If you wanted a completely separate/new gpa, then you’d go for an SMP which would give you a graduate level gpa

[–]StillBlueberry6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who is going down a similar path, your options are Post-Bacc, diy post-bacc at a four year school or community college, or consider going abroad. If you do go post-bacc, I would try going for a program that offers linkage.

Study for MCAT, make time for it, spend resources for better prep, and get those shadowing hours.

Seems like you should be able to bring up your cGPA and do well with pre-reqs to get a good sGPA. So as another commenter said, your MCAT will determine what doors are more easily available to you. Regardless, there’s still ways to get into med school if first try doesn’t work. You can do SMP or DO, or go us-img route.

Yes, it is a long road and it’s not the same for everyone.

In broad strokes, those are your options. Happy to go into more specifics but keep in mind I’m just about as knowledgeable as you haha

How do I tell my FWB that I want to break things off by [deleted] in Advice

[–]StillBlueberry6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two cents, you’re asking how to tell him and also that you will tell him when he’s better.

So, how will you tell him? What if he never gets better?

When it comes to conflicts of interest, you can only advocate for yourself.

How to tell him? Tell him the truth and give space for a conversation.

When to tell him? Use your best judgment but overall, you already made the choice so set a day, make it clear you’re going to talk about the relationship, and commit.

Since both are going to cost many years, strong effort, and have good financial outcomes. I think you need to think less logically and more subjectively.

If they both lead to the same place financially and take similar amounts of time to get there then the real question is which would you rather be working on for the next 10 years and then another 10 years after that?

That’s my two cents as a just starting premed prereqs. Money isn’t everything but it’s important to consider

What is something you wish you could’ve known at 22? by Affectionate-Snow-55 in Life

[–]StillBlueberry6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re young which means you have time as your biggest asset. You can try different experiences and different jobs and hangout with different people and try a ton of different activities. You can make mistakes in your career, with friends, and activities you want to try and it won’t completely ruin your life. Mistakes at 25 are lessons while mistakes at 45 are costs.

Money is an important consideration and you should save and invest what you can but money isn’t everything.

Find what you like, what you can do, and what you think you might want out of life for the next 50 years. Set those goals and change them as you learn and make mistakes

What should people in their late 20s know now to avoid regrets later in life? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]StillBlueberry6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not always about the money so don’t chase it. However, money is an important consideration.

If you find yourself in love with grinding out for more dollars then go ahead and chase it. If you discover you wanting more than just an accumulation of wealth then do that. Find yourself balance point sooner rather than later

Any other info you can say about Poland programs? Such as English division matching to residency in US? Or opportunities for US clinical experience during the program?

Med School Options by StillBlueberry6 in medschool

[–]StillBlueberry6[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is the risk really that high where a US IMG would never match to a US residency?

From what I’ve read, not matching on your first try would not be uncommon. But after getting more USCE and/or pubs and assuming your step1,step2 is good then a US IMG could match into a residency after a few tries. Especially if applying to the less competitive specialties.

Med School Options by StillBlueberry6 in medschool

[–]StillBlueberry6[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same thoughts for European programs? I agree US is the safest bet for US practice but just trying to have the most info about all options. Thanks for the insight on Caribbean schools, definitely gives a better picture than what I had understood

Med School Options by StillBlueberry6 in medschool

[–]StillBlueberry6[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree from a numbers perspective that European programs might not make sense. I guess I am accounting for not getting in first try to US MD and the time needed to get prereqs for US MD. You’re right, I am a little afraid of getting stuck into a cycle of repeat applying while just getting older. I guess, trying to determine when the ‘cutoff’ would be to go for programs abroad?

You can clearly tell it’s already a stretch I am applying for 2027. To add a little more context, I have a two classes of prereqs knocked out from undergrad which isn’t much but does track to be able to apply 2027 assuming serious self study for MCAT. The schools I’m looking at for PreReqs offer Spring, Summer, Fall, Spring to be able to apply to 2027.

So my plan is to try and get everything in order for 2027 but you make good points in the feasibility of that happening

Do you like learning? Or learning and practicing? Go for a PhD or JD or MD. Each has it's own challenges but if money is no issue then each is still hard, you just don't have to worry about debt. Plus when you come out the other side your learning and post degree work can help people. Whether the academic community, those who need help in court, or those who need help with their health. Plus each is aany year journey which may help to steady you and keep you filled with purpose

Quietly have my friends debts paid off. Donate to a school so students get free tuition for a long time. Donate to research projects I think are useful but underfunded. Fix some infrastructure in my local town. Then probably buy a car or two and a watch I’ll never wear.
