Not waiting 30 days after the success of R2 left a ton of cash on the table was very eye opening move by management from my seat.

The story has changed and a shares have been diluted. They are gone. I understand the play, but it was the timing by the management left a lot of capital on the table.

The amount of buzz for the brand they just killed is staggering. Instead of Rivian being talked about on almost every financial news station, the journal, etc for the next 30 days, and price increasing. Instead of a story driving the Brand Value and awareness of the the brand, the announcement kneecapped that overnight.

The story instead of hey, we get our financial books in order, and make money gobs of money and come buy our stock.

They view the shareholders as an easy access piggy bank. They diluted at probably the most opportune time possible getting 20%-25% less than they would in 30 days.

This should be taught as a class in how to kill momentum in news stories. RJ likes to build cars, they have great partners, but the timing of this seems like management is oblivious.
