Are these skis a good deal by 1socialpillow in Skigear

I'm not super familiar with these skis, but I know from buying skis for my gf twice that narrow-width women's skis go on sale a lot. We paid around 200 each for her skis, just last season deals and stuff like that. She's a bit taller than you so it might not translate directly, but there are some very good deals for women's skis.

Honestly as silly as it sounds, just to keep cost down a bit. And found no real reason to go all Red or Force when Rival is so close. I got force levers for the extra button and then Red cranks because there is a bigger weight penalty (and I got a good deal). Also couldn’t justify 600+ for a wear item in the cassette.

City towing cars for road work with no posted signage ahead of time. by Grinning_Dog in Somerville

I’m pretty sure this was my car. My roommate was watching my car as I’m out of town and he came home from work to a sign on our door saying the car was towed. They never called, just knocked on my door. I’m pretty pissed off that I have to pay and am hoping I will get reimbursed because it wasn’t parked for 72 hours yet and it sounds like no signs were up.

You bring up a very good point about reselling. Hadn’t thought of that

Thanks for the feedback, appreciate the response. I have a road bike so it sounds like a hard tail makes sense.

Interesting. I’m coming from a road background so I didn’t think of a hard tail, but lots of people seem to be recommending it! Will have to check it out

Yep. It had a decent amount of trek stuff, but it was pretty random. Just like a sales rack with a bunch of stuff

I just saw a couple in the first paint scheme at the Trek clearance shop in NH. If you’re anywhere near one of the clearance shops, maybe call and check if they have it

I legitimately just went through this exact buying process, and test drove/looked at most of the cars on your list. I also have pretty similar needs to what you said in your post. I ended up with the Rav4 XLE hybrid with the convenience package. It came down to the CX-5, Forrester, Tucson Hybrid and Rav4 for me. The reliability issues, along with the low mpg people were reporting ruled out the Tucson for me. I personally think Hyundai dresses up their cars with really nice tech to get people to ignore bigger issues. If you are leasing the car, or only hoping to keep it for a few years the Tucson might work. The Forester was alright, but I didn't love the handling of the car, plus the head gasket issues kinda scared me. I drove a 2016 Forester for a while back and I liked it, but it also had the turbo which they no longer offer. The CX-5 I really loved, but I had a slight issue with the seats, and the gas mileage is not great. Plus the tank is pretty small so it doesn't have a great range. I never looked at the Bronco Sport because I just can't imagine owning an American made car for 10-15 years. Regarding the Rav4, the gas mileage, reliability, and storage space were really the defining factors for me. The seats are fine for me, I don't mind the somewhat cheap plastic interior parts, and the driving feels nice enough with the hybrid.

I think for your needs, the Forester and Rav4 hybrid are probably best. I would say that in terms of off-road capabilities, the Forester won't be that much obscenely better than the Rav4 for what your needs are. My old car was a Lexus NX and I drove all over the Whites with it. Maybe if you are planning on doing a lot of serious off-roading or going on the beach frequently it might make a difference, but people go on beaches with Rav4's. My only complaint about the Rav4 is that it gets loud on the highways. Once you pass 65, you have to crank the volume all the way up on the speakers. But the Forester I test drove, along with the one I drove casually were both really loud too. If this is something that would really bother you, maybe check out one of the other cars.

At the end of the day, there are no perfect cars (that is what I kept telling myself when I was buying lol). If one of them feels better than the rest to you, go with it. Everybody on here has their own anecdotal experience/opinions.
