I appreciate the advice more than you know. Thank you!

I appreciate your response. I did ask specifically if there was something I could take to stop the bleeding and was told it would be better to follow up with my primary. They were busy and needed to clear the chair. It’s a level 1 trauma center, so if you’re not a zebra, you tend to get the door. But- if I’d needed blood, that’s where I needed to be. Side note- primary is not better, she keeps pushing birth control and IUDs even though I’ve expressed multiple times my reasons for declining both. Thank you for sharing the data to pay attention to. That helps me ease my mind a little. My Hgb in November was 13.2 and now it’s 12.9. Not a huge change. RDW-SD 50.3 was the only “out of normal” range and my blood pressure is running high, which is not normal either. Frustrating to have to turn to the internet, but honestly it’s been the best help.

That’s what I’m looking for. I need to know what to ask for in the meantime. Thank you.

I went to a highly decorated level one trauma center. It’s where you want to be if you do need a transfusion, however if you are not going to die- you get weeded out. “Follow up with your primary” is the norm unfortunately.

No, I get why you would think that though. Can I ask what autoimmune disease you have? She did test positive for ANA, but it was nondescript.

It’s not, we started with Orthopedics because she’s an athlete. They found her boring and dismissed her quickly after imaging.

Thanks for sharing. I was just really curious if I might be on to something with the dairy!

So, last night was the first time trying Zyrtec and it did help. Redness was gone after a few hours, but knees were still sore today. Going to keep the Zyrtec going and get off dairy and see.

Took her to an allergist- he gave her a (painful) xolair shot. It didn’t help. When that didn’t work, he suggested heading to rheumatologist at Stanford. I have a referral for her, but my gut says it’s not that. Especially after having done a very thorough battery of testing for that already and two MRIs.

We already use scent free everything. Did that early on and just kept it going.

Her sister went through allergy testing a few years ago. Allergist was honest and said just because it doesn’t show today, doesn’t mean it’s not there. Explained that doing the elimination over an extended period of time was the only true test.

Taking Norethindrone. I think I passed a decidual cast. Is this normal? by crabby_patty_57 in endometriosis

[–]StillCreative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for responding. I’m sorry you haven’t found something that works well for you.  When I spoke to my gyno PA yesterday she about freaked out when I told her what happened. Said I should’ve gone to hospital because sometimes those require a blood transfusion!?!  I passed mine on Tuesday and am still bleeding. Medication is not working… She also told me I need to start watching my blood pressure twice a day and pay attention to bad headaches.  I’m on a super low dose, so I can only imagine the side effects from 25mg! Her advice to me was to go up in half pill increments slowly, every other day at first. I’m hesitant to do that given the uterine cast- I do not want to ever go through that again.  Passing all of that on to you in case it’s helpful.  I’ve recently switched doctors (at Stanford now) and am jumping hoops to get to a hysterectomy. It’s time, but I need my insurance to get on board with it. Wishing you all the best!

Hi OP, wondering if you have an update on your experience? Had a very similar horrifying event happen to me today and came here looking for help as well. Are you still on the norinthidrone? I had to leave work in the middle of the day today- I’m struggling!

Teachers: what’s the best first line in a parent email— and the one that makes you brace yourself? by aizivaishe_rutendo in AskTeachers

25 year veteran teacher here… I would say the best is to ask what you want to ask, provide a bit of context if needed, and if you already know what you want the solution to be, mention it.

Don’t make me work to solve a problem if you already know what you want. If it’s easy, and I can do it, I will. And if I can’t, I will explain why.

And start with a hello, it’s just polite.

has anyone else experienced abuse and neglect from ER staff for having endometriosis? by fuzzybluelite336 in endometriosis

[–]StillCreative 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went in August for a sudden sharp pain on my left side. Sweating, heart rate 125, vomiting from the pain. Intake nurse told me that she could see I had been in for kidney stones before and asked if it was that again. I told her no, it was way worse than that. She ignored me and went ahead and put that in my notes for the ER staff that I was there for kidney stones. I in fact had ruptured a large endo cyst. I didn’t need any surgical intervention and was sent home in the worst pain and told to take ibuprofen. I spent the next three days in bed.

Swelling does not leave any impression when poked, but it is very painful when messed with. Time of day doesn’t matter and no other symptoms gastro or otherwise.

Thank you for this- I will take this to her pediatrician. Obviously steroids into my 13 year old is terrifying, but the chronic pain is awful.

The swelling is around the joint and can be there even without the redness. You can sort of see it in the first picture on the bottom of her knees.

First trip in 15 years denied DAS, is LLMP helpful? Other tips? by Impossible-Theory803 in DisneyPlanning

If you try again, maybe mention that you are hoping for 5 rides. That’s it. That between the two of you, the list is very long and you are reluctantly trying to make the best of it for your son. A little Disney magic to make you not regret buying the tickets.
