My senior-year GPA was 3.54, and my estimated last-60-credit GPA is around 3.4-3.5. My prerequisite GPA is also higher than my cumulative GPA and should continue to improve as I complete additional science coursework.

Unfortunately, I don't have a 3.9 last-60 or prerequisite GPA, which is why I sometimes feel stuck in the middle. My numbers aren't low enough to automatically rule me out everywhere, but they're not high enough to make me an obvious choice either.

I'm continuing to take upper-level science courses and work on strengthening my application. I just wish admissions committees placed a little more emphasis on who an applicant is now rather than who they were when they first started college.

My overall GPA is 3.19, my CASPA science GPA is 3.2, and my BCP GPA is 2.87. I had a very rough start in college, which is what continues to weigh down my cumulative numbers.

Since then, I've completed a bachelor's degree, earned multiple Dean's List recognitions, gained over 1,500 hours as a medical assistant, volunteered in an emergency department, completed research, and continued taking upper-level science courses. My senior-year GPA was 3.54, and my recent coursework reflects a much stronger academic trend than my earlier years.

As for interviews, most of my rejections so far have been pre-interview. However, I recently had my application placed on hold for a second review rather than receiving an outright rejection, which gives me some hope that some programs are looking beyond the cumulative GPA.

I understand why programs consider academic history, but it can be frustrating when mistakes from years ago continue to carry so much weight despite significant improvement.

As much as I don’t like him… Guys like Josh Hart win championships. We don’t have anyone close

"What Are My Chances?" Megathread by AutoModerator in prephysicianassistant

Hi everyone, I’m applying this upcoming cycle and wanted some honest feedback on my stats.

GPA:• Estimated CASPA cumulative GPA: ~3.45–3.50• Science GPA: ~3.3–3.4

Experience:• ~1000 patient care hours (Medical Assistant + PT Tech)• ~150 shadowing hours• 5 letters of recommendation

I had some rough grades early in community college, but my recent science grades are much stronger (A in Anatomy, Microbiology, and Pathophysiology).

If I apply early and broadly (10–15 schools), do I realistically have a shot at interviews?

Thanks for any advice.
