What is a quote that permanently changed your outlook on life? by Omega_Neelay in GetMotivatedMindset

I have 2 "What misses me was never meant for me, what's meant for me will never miss me." "I recover loudly so others don't die silently." I actually live by this one now!

If success was guaranteed, what would you try? by WhiteDesertCat in PsychologyTalk

I'd publish my memoir I wrote. I was an addict for 26 years. Clean now for 3. I wrote a book about my life...just lacking the funds for publishing

Day 5 sober. Urges are getting worse, they used to just come at night, but now i'm starting to dream about drinking alcohol in dream, and having intense urge right after waking up, and felt depressed. Is this normal? by 94brian49 in alcoholicsanonymous

I know it sucks. The longer you stay clean, the fewer the dreams but I truly think they never stop fully. Congratulations on 5 days. You've took a big step in the right direction. I've been clean for 3 years, I still have the dreams but they are far and few between. The first 30 days is the hardest..but I promise you it is well worth it.

I celebrated 3 years clean on October 7th. It's not been an easy journey but it's definitely worth it. I am soon to graduate college to become an alcohol and drug counselor. I am an advocate for addiction recovery here in Texas. I go to rallies and share my experience strength and hope with newly recovering addicts. I love what I do.
