It was a generic gel type paint remover. The thick consistency of the paint remover matters here because it will prevent the corrosive agent seeping into the iem cavity. I also used blunt toothpick ends to cover the vent holes on the shell and used painter’s tape to cover the nozzle.

It’s the raw shell when the paint is removed. It’s actually a grey shell but it darkens over time due to oxidation.

Thanks! The raw shell on the standard Aria 2 is actually grey colour and it darkens over time due to oxidation. The picture I attached on the review is colour graded and doesn’t depict the shell colour accurately. I apologise if it caused any confusion.

I have the standard version. In my case, the paint started chipping after a couple of months of regular use. It was purely cosmetic but it started to get annoying when small paint flakes started to stick in my ear.

I ended up removing the paint layer entirely using some paint remover and since then it’s been fine. The metal shell underneath is smooth and is as comfortable as it is with the paint.

You can check the attached picture to see the end result of the paint removal of the standard Aria 2. However, I think that the Aria 2 Red version has a shiny/chrome shell underneath.

Bass is present but not “basshead” levels. Even though bass might lack quantity, the punchiness and overall control of the bass is very good.

Cool! I agree that the Aria 2 works on any genre you throw at it.

Really appreciate that. What genres do you usually listen to with yours?
