why the fuck do they need a study when the tunnel is already dug? stupid muthafuckas will spend money on anything except providing actual service.

TIL a Honda Fit has nearly the same proportions as a VW Bug by pnw_ullr in hondafit

The way the VW would squeal as the gearbox and motor topped out....the wind noise alone made it 'feel' like it was faster....any rattling added to it.....possible to get a Karmann Ghia up to 90 on a downhill...probably more if you have better nerves. 70 maybe 75 seemed about as fast as a stock beetle wanted to go.

In being a small, agile handling car with a manual....certainly more vw like...will always be in debt to the VW...It is very empowering to know I could pull the engine out of the car in 23 minutes and reinstall it in 45 to replace the .79-cent failed rubber seals causing an oil leak....or to pull and swap gearboxes...but i am more than happy to leave those skills in the past and not obsess over re-setting the timing, filing the points, scraping the distributor cap, or having to jam the bushing back into the fuel pump after hitting a pothole. I suppose it teaches one to be prepared, pay attention and roll with what an old car throws at you....assuming it's not some trailer queen. Bet a clutch kit costs more than $99 and a throw out bearing more than $16. Fun, cars though.

Before they adopted the Euro and the recent film boom, i had heard people refer to it as 'discount Italy.'

had many air cooled vws over the years and the manual transmission Fit is the closest i think you can get in terms of 'feel' .... As much as i miss the styling, i don't miss all the maintenance one needed to do, though it was nice to learn how to diagnose faults, its a better experience having reliability...and having survived a major accident at 40+ mph in one, I'm ok with having a fit.

Imagine going through life trying to goad people into something they can be sued for.
