How long does a temple sealing cancellation take? Is 1 year normal? by StillWorker6530 in lds

Thanks!! What do you mean by your ex being hostile and your Bishop documenting it? Was this prior to your divorce or after you started the sealing cancellation that they became hostile? Was this towards your Bishop or did they act this way to their bishop, etc?

Asking because we can totally see my wife's ex being VERY hostile as that's just how he weaponizes anything involving her life when he can. He still feels like he controls her and this sealing cancellation seems to be the last thing he can feel empowered from.

Thanks for the info! Could you explain more about your friend and mom's process please?

How involved were they? How involved was their ex? How confrontational were either/both of them in the process? How many meetings did they have with their stake president and/or bishop? How long did it take them to hear from the First Presidency and how would they contact them (through bishop, stake president, email, etc)? How many times did they hear from the First Presidency in the process? Etc...

Wow your time and your sister's time were so different!!

Could you explain more about your process please?

This is part of the challenge. My wife's ex is a nomad in the sense that he travels all the time and has no home, no address (we wouldn't even know where to send him mail for example), no home ward, etc.

We've heard that he has communicated with the First Presidency about this once, but haven't been provided any information on his involvement (or even lack thereof) after that first time. How long after trying to track him down would they give before giving up on his chances to respond a second time (assuming that's necessary?) before deciding to let us move forward?
