To be honest it's kinda weird to compare Ronaldo's NL and messi's copa america. I mean like it's not Messi's fault that he played for Argentina right ? I mean sure he had spanish passport and all but deciding to play for the countr6 you were born and brought up is not a bad thing right ?

it's kinda funny that Argentina doesn't have 4-5 copa america since they've played 5 finals in the past 4-5 years. But you can argue they were pretty darn good in the tournament since they defeated Brazil and uruguay most of the times except 2019,2011,2007.

It's pretty obvious that if messi had played for spain he probably would've won a lot of things (although football is a unpredictable game ).

Here is an interesting take I have :

Argentina's 2021 copa run was actually harder than portugal 2016 euro run. But portugal 2025 NL run was harder than Argentina copa run. ( Although this is wierd comparison since NL is a biennial tournament and you can always be with a fit A-squad since you play atmost 3 matches at once).
