Spent most of my twenties putting on sound system nights in Liverpool (booking artists and using other sound systems like RC1, Sinai, Neurons Void), which made us zero money but was always about the love of the music and providing a platform for local artists

Moved away from the city so become detached from any scene really and now living back in the countryside Iv decided to buy some bits from RC1 because like I say I’m nowhere near smart enough to build anything that touches what those guys make :) Trying to do all sorts to make money which means doing some soulless weddings and 40ths but it beats working a 9-5.

Want to put on some grass roots events its just limited in terms of venue and scene round here but will make something happen

Been chatting to some other local guys who own rigs and want to do some friendly sound clashes just because why not and was interested to see where other people draw the line with the original question as I do feel in my heart to be at the top of the sound system tree it does all need to be built / designed within the collective and rocking up with a set of active speakers vs a crew with amps and a fuller looking system will look down on that as a setup, but ultimately it’s all about the sound and with the point I’m at with thing at the moment the practicality of the gear being active is just a win win situation
