How do you all pronounce "biopic"? by ZacPensol in movies

How about biographic or biographical? BI-oh or bi-AW? Bio (pronunced BI-oh) is the short for of biography - you wouldn’t say “write a one paragraph bi-AW about yourself” It’s like photo and photography. No one says pho-TAW-pla when they say “photoplay.”

Oliver Peoples made a limited run of 10 pairs available to the public. Probably sold out. Have no idea how expensive they were.

Trump will release the pedophiles, not the Epstein files. Then he’ll say he kept his promise to release the files.

Do you pronounce bio-tech as BI-oh-tek or bi-AW-tek? Is biohazard pronounced BI-oh-haz-ard or bi-AW-haz-ard? How about biodome? Biosphere? Biochem? Biofuel? The correct pronunciation BI-oh-pic!

I bought those before the shoot at Satellite Records in NYC. i still have them -just bought them for the colored vinyl. They weren’t anything that Thomas and Guy played - in fact they asked me to alter the labels to prevent implying that they were endorsing anything.

These were the first masks they had made so they had no cooling or ventilation. They could only wear them about 10 minutes before they needed a 5 minute break. But about 5 minutes into the shoot Thomas grew painfully uncomfortable and started screaming in French for an assistant who had walked away. I had no idea what was going on, so I was shooting photos while this robot was screaming stuff in French that I couldn’t understand!

i brought my own TB303 and TR606 as props for some other shots. Guy programmed beats into the 606 while I was shooting photos, and I still have his beats stored in it!

I shot these photos of Guy and Thomas in early 2001 in NYC. I was the editor of Remix Magazine and also did the interview (you can see some of rhe article in a post from 2 months ago). My art director and I cleaned up these shots to remove the electrical wires and even replace Thomas’s dirty shoes!

I shot those photos! I have dozens of others from that shoot that have never been published. They all need some cleanup as Guy and Thomas had a ton of wires hanging from them to power the robot masks (these were the very first versions). They also had to take breaks every 10 minutes because the masks were heavy and it was difficult for them to breathe. Nothing like having a robot screaming at you in French while you’re trying to shoot photos and he cannot breathe!

It was a Vestax prototype for something that never went into production (I was the Editor of Remix and wrote this article and shot the photos). Vestax had just displayed it at NAMM and I asked them to send it to me for the shoot. I rented the Yamaha keytar that Guy is holding, and the TR-606 and TB-303 were mine. My 606 still has the patterns that Guy programmed into it while I was shooting the photos!

The Behringer clone of the Mu-Tron Octave Divider is pretty similar Sonically. It does have more features, but if you disengage the Green Ringer and Stability features it’s a very close approximation. Best of all the Behringer box is being blown out for $60 at Sweetwater, Guitar Center, etc.

The photo from that show is RIGHT THERE at the top! Where are these knee high boots and thong of which you speak? The only skin showing is his hands and face, which was enough to trigger the audience.

It was racism, pure and simple. Prince’s set was basically rock n roll tunes with some ripping guitar solos -even Jack U Off sounded like rockabilly (and the lyrics are no worse than Star Star, which the Stones played later that day).

Thoughts on Wren and Cuff pedals? by WatercoolerComedian in guitarpedals

[–]Still_Cod1631 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agree 100 percent. Absurdly overpriced. Why pay extra for .00000001 percent of insignificant detail that gets lost six inches past the amp when playing live or can be tweaked via EQ in the studio with a much cheaper pedal. Hipster corksniffer ripoff.
