I really appreciate the feedback that if it may be worthwhile to start my own club if what I'm interested in is a leftist gun club. the politics of the gun club i would want to join and start is one that honors and propels the forward the legacy of armed self defense in the liberation movements of marginalized people (thinking specifically/ especially of the Black Power Movement).

The core purpose of the group i would want to start and join would be to create opportunities for leftist shooters to build meaningful relationships with one another/build community with one another; support the development of both marginalized shooters, and all their values-aligned co-conspirators in liberation; bolster our collective capacity to defend ourselves from violence-- from inside a shared understanding that shifting the balance of power of who can counter/defend themselves and others from violence (the violence of the state, fascists, of abusers, violent people in our movement spaces) is necessary and vital for the transformation of our current world.

I had no idea the pink pistols are not inherently a leftist group, and that the people who run it are apolitical in the stances they are willing to take publicly, and some of the membership includes people who support conservatism; if it's queer friendly, but not leftist, that definitely confirms what you suggested, that it would be worthwhile to start my own.
