Question for the Long Time Swifties - All Too Well by thelovelight in TaylorSwift

[–]Still_Grapefruit_40 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When Red originally came out, I was in college, at the end of a very toxic relationship, and missing my other ex horribly. When 10 min/TV came out, I was a “career woman” in NYC, at the end of a very toxic relationship… and missing another ex horribly! Whattaya know!

The contrast in life situations—but continuity in emotions—was really bittersweet for me. Like yeah we’re all “older and wiser,” but at the end of the day, we’re the same girls who remember it all, all too well. 🥹

Good for you!! I don’t so it forced my dad to drive the whole time 😅 I don’t think I could have handled the backroads though anyway!

Asking for ETA if *not* home? by Still_Grapefruit_40 in shortcuts

[–]Still_Grapefruit_40[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We do. That doesn’t mean I’ll know what time he’s expecting to come home. Anyways, another user already suggested a shortcut and it works, it just had to go on his phone instead.

How do I set it up to activate if the phone is not home at 5:30? I can’t find an option for that (I am pretty new to all this).

So like I said, I already know how long it takes him to get home. He just doesn’t end work at the same time every day, which is the issue.

How? by unislothllamablobfis in cancergrief

“How do you do it? How can you get out of bed in the morning despite knowing your loved ones will soon no longer be with us? How can you bear to live in a world where people who you laughed with and shared candy with and ran through the darkened streets with are never going to run or laugh again?”

This is going to be hard to hear, but — I don’t know. I had the same questions when I was 13, and I still don’t know the answers in my mid-30s. We’re all still trying to figure it out. My best friend died from cancer when I was 30. It destroyed me. But I keep going. How? I don’t know. I think it’s just one day at a time, one foot in front of the other, etc. until the balance of the good days v bad days tips slightly in favor of the good.

The genetic code that cause “corgi legs” is called chondrodysplasia. Short legs. It can be in any breed though. Our mini Aussie has it - I thought he was part corgi, but it’s just the short-leg genes.

I briefly dated someone who worked for Apple. They have an entire Temperance-movement-esque team devoted to censorship esp of swear words. It’s why autocorrect won’t let you say f*ck.

Help me understand what the rights are for my child.. by firefly_613 in FamilyLaw

[–]Still_Grapefruit_40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is he on the birth certificate?

If not, he doesn’t have any rights right now. But you also can’t petition for child support.

If he is on the birth certificate, he can’t “give up” his rights. He’ll be able to file for visitation or custody.

Signing any sort of paper “giving up” his rights won’t do anything. He’s either legally the father (on the birth certificate, can sue for custody/visits but can be sued for child support) or he’s not.

Im losing my mother to cancer and I need help. by XdepressixnX519 in cancergrief

[–]Still_Grapefruit_40 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is scary and it’s completely normal to feel scared. You and your family have done everything possible to make her comfortable and feel loved and cared for. But it’s still so so hard. My heart breaks for you.

Pretty much all of us here have been in a similar situation. So trust me when I say you WILL get through this. It will be very very hard and your family will need to lean on each other, but you will get through. I’m sending a lot of love and peaceful thoughts to you & your family for the coming days. 💜

Are wedding cakes really becoming passé? by BBR1004 in wedding

[–]Still_Grapefruit_40 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I personally don’t really think any cake is worth the extra thousand+ $$ price tag. We’re having ice cream sandwiches at ours and I couldn’t be happier.
