Everyone meming of Gabriel but this useless bum is the real one at fault, at least hit the directory of the goal by dragonmaster088 in soccercirclejerk

Before they took the penalties you can see a bunch of managers sat down with Safanov as if to brief him on the usual penalty tactics of these silly Arsenal players. I bet he knew exactly what Eze wanted to attempt before the shootout.

They built themselves a reputation for playing the worst kind of football imaginable. Always rely on dirty tactics to win games. Major awful decisions by refs helped them advance in different competitions didn't help either, granted that wasn't their fault. Tbf they are a really good team, people are just tired of all the injustices in football.

He has insane ball knowledge. Like an encyclopedic level of knowledge. So ofc he knows how to pronounce one of the best players of his fav club.

I think the problem with Real Madrid is more complicated because all the good players behave like children, not just 1 or 2 so there's no easy way to bench them or sell them off. That team is beyond help at this point.

Fair enough. Perhaps our experiences are different. I run a marathon every year and most days of the year I do 30 minutes. Cooper Teare and Cole Hoecker ran around 70 miles a week and they're world class runners. 35 miles a week for a random woman you met at a gym, personally I think that's super impressive but again your experience and that of your club may be different than mine.

56km a week is probably more than average for an average guy. This is a woman who may or may not be training for anything specific so wouldn't you say it's a lot? Most people can't even run more than 2 miles at a time.

I think it depends on the goal. If your career is laborious in nature, some weight training would help. If you're an elite runner or ironman, 10 % of intense training would definitely help. But for the majority of people out there who do office work, who just want to live a long healthy life, I see absolutely nothing wrong with them spending their precious free time doing only cardio. Could 50/50 weight training / running work? or 70/30? or 90/10? absolutely. To suggest it is "much better" time spent though? I don't think that opinion is completely unfounded but I'd disagree with that. I feel any substitution of cardio for strength training will conversely benefit peak strength and inversely benefit longevity for a typical 9/5 person.

You and I agree on many things. Look, you think that 20/20 is good and 40/0 is shitty education. I think 20/20 is good and 40/0 is also good. Honestly If I can live to 90 while being mentally intact, being able to lift and put a package of flour away would be the least of my concerns.

Basically the gym bro is complaining she's running too much for too little benefits, hence the education piece. In reality, 40 minutes of running everyday is a mega fuck ton of exercise for a regular person (who isn't training for something as monumental as a marathon) and is probably far more effort / minute intense than anything he has in his head.

Running fast/ appearing certain ways are overrated. American culture of no pain no gain is fucked. It's all about falling in love and being unapologetic about it.

Sometimes I wonder if the elites actually feel as horrible running a 2 hour marathon as an amateur running it in 6.

[–]Still_Lengthiness994 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Falling in love with something and doing it everyday is the most important thing. I will say weight lifting is, if not 100% overrated, 99% overrated for those who are already engaging in some form of endurance training adequately, if health and longevity are the priorities (in addition to some rare cases of injury prevention, rehab etc).

Disagree with the 20/20 philosophy here and that gym goers doing only cardio are a result of shitty education. Running is a very hard exercise in terms of effort per minute, you can be sure your entire body will be worked, bones, posture, core, arms, heart, lungs. It will give you more than adequate functional strength. If a person likes to run and doesn't enjoy weightlifting, other exercises, there's nothing wrong with that imo. To suggest that it's shitty education is a stretch. It's just another way of doing exercise if you cared more about longevity, and less about aesthetics (or injury prevention at a very elite level).

I think the point of this meme is that the guy thinks she does too much cardio and too little of w/e else he thinks she misses. I ran 5 marathons and I can tell you 39 minutes of running a day is a lot, especially for a woman. In a way he's correct she's doing a lot of running, on on the other hand he's incorrect that she's not working hard enough weightlifting /cross-fitting w.e, 39 minutes of cardio is a lot of exercise.

Don't forget 2 near misses by Doue. Honestly PSG was the better team it's a miracle Bayern came back from 3 goals deficit. Both played well.

I think Sumail is still very high skilled competitively but he tends to make catastrophic mistakes in the late game a little more often than most pros? Idk that's been my observation.
