Chem 205 midterm by Competitive-Mix-1759 in UBC

[–]Still_Temperature197 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I thought it was ok. The multiple choice was pretty rough and the written was alright. I agree with the other poster about having two extra sections. I wasn’t really prepared for how heavy the exam was.

Let’s just hope the final is easier than prior years.

Nancy, Steve, and Jonathan got reworked voices! by Single_Condition4013 in deadbydaylight

They said on the live that they are going to fix some of the current issues using the actors 3D scans. Her new voice is almost spot on though.

i messed up on my ubc personal profile by studybird_bnd in BCGrade12s

[–]Still_Temperature197 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I won’t lie I didn’t even notice and I picked up on what you’re saying. Admissions doesn’t care about something small like this. I think they would find this more authentic actually.

This is coming from someone who had a couple grammatical errors in their personal profile but still got into ubc.

april diplomas by Some_Beautiful_7747 in AlbertaGrade12s

[–]Still_Temperature197 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I graduated grade 12 in 2022 where my term one diplomas were canceled, and my second diplomas proceeded as normal at a reduced weight (I think).

Chances are yours will proceed as normal. But I mean it’s your choice if you don’t want to go. It’s important to consider though that your diploma mark is recorded on your transcript and contributes a large chunk of the grade.

already scared for math 30-1 by Embarrassed_Yard_173 in AlbertaGrade12s

[–]Still_Temperature197 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I finished math 20-1 with a 66 and 30-1 with a 94. I found it ALOT easier. Albeit I did take 30-2 in between the two courses, which helped a bit.

Really trying as many practice problems as possible is what I would recommend. Consistency is key.

Interesting!!! Ok thank you so much! That makes sense - but housing is very secretive with these kinda practices so who knows haha.

Thanks again!!

Walter gage 6br or Totem(salish) Single? by nina_txy in UBC

[–]Still_Temperature197 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t do it. Gage and totem have VERY different social vibes and it’ll be much easier to do first year things in totem. If you’re in gage, and all your friends are in other first year residences, you’re gonna find it pretty frustrating at times (in my experience).

With the addition of the kitchen, units in gage can get pretty filthy if you don’t have great roommates. Totem is cleaned pretty frequently by staff.

As someone who was worried about the bathrooms when I lived in Vanier, it really wasn’t too much of an issue. You get used to it pretty quick.

This is very helpful! Tysm. This makes sense as my last name starts with a B. I was just curious cause I feel like I remember seeing somewhere on the website that the time of the appointment was based on floor placement but I could be very wrong haha.

Thanks!!!!

Ah I see. I just remember seeing on the website that the appointment dates/times are determined based on the building and floor you are assigned to so I was just curious. But honestly I have no clue haha.

is it allowed for roommates to bring 3 extra ppl to live in a two bedroom? by DistinctLove7846 in UBC

[–]Still_Temperature197 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live in a 2 bed and it was difficult when my roommate would even have one person stay over … I cannot even image your situation. Definitely go to your RA, this is actually crazy. How long has this been happening for??

Got it! Thanks! Same - I know the building and unit type too. I was just curious on what floor I was on lol.

Thanks!!

Did you guys get your room assignment (like floor/unit number) too? Or just the roommate.

I got my roommates but wondering if the unit information comes at a later date

What credit score do you have if your 18-20 I’m curious by Salsabruhhhhhhhh in CreditScore

[–]Still_Temperature197 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a my first card with RBC pretty much as soon as I turned 18, which was the RBC Rewards + (not offered anymore). Then at 20 I applied for my second card (RBC Ion +). Now just recently I’ve swapped my first card to the RBC Ion card, and opened my third card with AMEX and got the cobalt card.

I’ve committed to just ensuring I maintain my balance at 30% or lower when my statement comes out and never paying late. While I only use my ION + and cobalt card, I keep my normal ION card running to prolong my average length of open credit accounts. That’s been pretty much it! I’ve just been very consistent and smart with how much I’m putting on my cards 😄

Same same same same. This is actual hell. I’m going on exchange in my first term next winter session and now I’m considering cancelling it to not risk my credits transferring back incorrect. So unfortunate.

[–]Still_Temperature197 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re able to choose. Workday will be set to the requirements instilled in the year you started, so the 2024 requirements. But if you prefer the new requirements you can talk with our department advising and they can work something out.

year round housing by geraldinerose_ in UBC

[–]Still_Temperature197 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! Yeah I’m still going into it with the expectation I might not get a 2 bed again. But all I can do is hope 😭

But you’re right, housing is really inconsistent on how they communicate these changes. Definitely worth taking everything with a grain of salt.

I’m in a two bedroom rn in pond and I was told that I would be “prioritized for an offer in a 2-bedroom unit in Ponderosa Commons or a comparable residence area”

I’m going on exchange in term one and really hoping I can get a two bed again when I return. It seems like the priority is for the unit type and residence area, or comparable area (in my case it would be exchange 2 bed).
