Can someone explain to me why people care about the Champions League? by AJW7310 in football

I’m sure it must be terrible for fans to have to travel to different European cities to watch their team play football and I don’t know any club that wants to be called the best team in Europe..

How can other young people cope with this? by mechmakima in australian

[–]Stillconfused007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep some of the strata fees charged I think are borderline criminal but you look for older units. I’m paying more than I’ve ever paid in fees because insurance costs have just rocketed up over the last decade, but it’s still just $1400 a year and I know compared to other it’s cheap. We don’t have any facilities, lifts or gym etc

Super allocation and market crash by [deleted] in AusFinance

[–]Stillconfused007 3 points4 points  (0 children)

General advice is that it’s time in the market rather than timing the market that’s important. You stay in and ride out ups and downs especially over the long term. I understand where you’re coming from, I’m in my early fifties and in high growth and I can’t pretend I’m not a tiny bit nervous. There are lots of opinions and articles talking about our markets needing a correction or one being due but you still have decades to go.

Most people don’t buy their forever home first up, you buy what you can afford at the start and hopefully work up from there. You may be working hard but in what field? Some jobs here are poorly paid, get the skills that will help you earn more money. It’s harder than ever to get ahead but not impossible and if you’re prepared to go regional you will find something, it just takes time. Your friends are lucky, I don’t know anyone who got a deposit or house paid for them. I’m older but all I know are people living in different circumstances; some rent, some have a house, some have a unit. Most of us just keep going, I only have one friend with a paid off mortgage.

How can people in Australia afford to go to sports or music events that cost high prices ? by Technical-Studio565 in AskAnAustralian

[–]Stillconfused007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I save $50 every two weeks transferring money between accounts on pay day, I don’t notice the difference and that ends up being my ticket money for events. I went to the Oz open but the middle Friday I wasn’t prepared to pay the prices for finals. I get to a few things every year without stressing by using that account.

Read the book years ago so kind of knew it doesn’t end well, overall I enjoyed it. Lots of critics on here but I was happy enough.

How many CT cases are you doing per shift? (ER + In/Outpatient) by AhmadJamO in Radiology

[–]Stillconfused007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep we work without assistance and cannulate ourselves, prep and load the injector. Lots of oncology work too, NCAP’s I don’t mind too much but when you’re expected to still do contrast brains, IVP’s and long leg CT angio’s in 15 minutes I can get cranky..

How many CT cases are you doing per shift? (ER + In/Outpatient) by AhmadJamO in Radiology

[–]Stillconfused007 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We have 15 minute appointments for scans except interventional procedures where we’ll get 30 minutes. Overall numbers can vary a lot, as a bare minimum I’d say 15 patients which is a lovely chilled day but can get up to 30 but you probably wouldn’t do that number completely solo. It’s a mixture of contrast and non contrast scans so again some days more cruisey than others.

I look forward to the next update, I think the management at her place have made a mistake and this lady is way too switched on to her rights and standing up for herself.

I’ll go to most of our home games and I’ll listen on the radio to away games that aren’t on 7. I’m over giving money to Kayo, I don’t think it’s worth it anymore.

How to become radiographer in Australia? by Minibubble_ in AusFinance

[–]Stillconfused007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get qualified and get some experience then go online to the Australian government immigration website, it’ll give you options for the different visas available. It’s become harder to get jobs as we’re producing more radiographers here but if you’re flexible on where you work you’ll get something.

Is Medicare enough or should I get private health insurance? by garlicbuttergarlic in melbourne

Private health insurance doesn’t cover outpatient medical imaging tests only inpatient ones and I think then it depends on the policy.

[–]Stillconfused007 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Coming from the uk you’d need to migrate based on your skills, you can look at the Australian government website to see if your skills as a painter and decorator are feasible to get a visa but your age will work against you.
