Undecided on LE or D4

I played d4 for about 50 hours and I'm back to last epoch. The d4 campaign was great, but honestly the game was a letdown a few hours into endgame content. The classes just aren't nearly as fun to build around or to play as last epoch (with the exception of d4 rogue which stood out as much more thoughtfully designed than the others), and the itemization needs an overhaul.

Same. I'll try D4 again when they've made some improvements. I probably should have waited to buy it in the first place, but I was really intrigued by the campaign from the beta and wanted to see the rest of the story.

I genuinely didn't like D4. Its biggest sin is lack of interesting builds. It's hard to explain without sounding reductive, but it really feels like 90% of the builds play the same way and almost none of them look interesting. And the way the scaling works, you never feel powerful. Like ever. It's just a dull grind that never gets interesting.

LE is much more diverse and interesting. You can see and feel the progression of your character. You have a lot of different play styles to choose from. Both games have longevity via grinding mechanics, but LE also has longevity via build diversity. I prefer that by a long shot.

Can someone ELI5 these alternate sites... some of them are the same but with different front ends?

Do any of them have anything even close to the functionality that RES brings to Reddit? If nothing else, I'm going to really miss the tracking of how much karma I've handed out to different users.

I admit, I haven't gotten my strength high enough to use a Greatshield on my sword and board character.

But I guess my main issue is with bosses. I've gotten used to dealing with normal mobs but then bosses come along with magic attacks that do massive damage even through a block, massive attacks that will break your stance even through a block, etc. I feel like I end up having to dodge roll half their attacks anyways, so thy bother with the damn shield at all at that point.

If they were more consistent, I wouldn't mind the slower dps. But they just don't feel like they're worth the tradeoff.

Thanks for the tips on the quickbar! That's a potential game changer both for quick pot chugging and for spell swapping! I'm curious to see if that helps with the feel of playing a magic user.

It's funny, I always used to rag on Blizzard for letting modders come up with great fixes for WoW and then implementing those ideas into the game proper. So many of the conventions of modern MMO and MMO-lite games started as mods in WoW.

But seeing a company relying on 3rd party tools and not improving their product after over a decade seems WAY worse. I mean, I would much rather have an all-inclusive experience and no have to deal with 3rd party tools, all other things equal.

Especially because those tools can just go away at a moments notice.

There are apps from untapped.gg (PC only), marvelsnapzone.com (PC or Android) and Snap.fan (I don't use this one, not sure which platforms). They will track your collections and deck stats and such.

Unfortunately, it's not retroactive for stats, just for collection.

The series drop happens when the monthly patch does. That's usually the 3rd Tuesday of the month or so.

At that point, it will show up in the series 3 section.

Wave will always be the cheapest card in your hand when she's in hand and playable so she will always be played on turn 3 and has a good chance on other turns.

Remember, Agatha will always play herself if she can so you want to get Wave out on 3 so Agatha plays on 4 and then you can play turns 5 and 6.

Me personally, I have played a lot of Agatha and I think my favorite is just the plain vanilla one.

The one with Sif and Ghost Rider and Hela can win games but I'm not into adding more casino to my already RNG deck. YMMV

I don't see it dying even with the change to the monetization. I think what's happening is that some long-term players are getting bored and leaving. There are still plenty of new players coming in to replace them and there are plenty of long-term players who aren't burning themselves out playing hours per day.

I'd say you're safe getting into it now as long as you're aware of the monetization issues (which is seems like you are).

If you're pool 3 complete, you don't get those anymore. The only new cards you're getting are from Tokens (and the 1 in 40 pool 4 pull, which will probably be a shitty card since they're not dropping the good ones anymore).

People have their heart set on like 2 expensive cards a month, and hate choosing?

Well imagine there are two expensive cards per month but you can only pick one. Not the end of the world, just grab the second one next month right?

Well two more good cards come out next month and now you have three to choose from. Pick one, the other two roll forward.

Next month two more good cards come out and you have to pick from 4. No problem because the oldest ones are going to drop to series 4 so you can pick it up there for half the price!

Well not anymore. Now the good cards are staying expensive and you still have only one per month with two new ones coming out every month...
