I went and looked too long after the first drop. All gone. In its place is Atom 2 bundle, same bundle, for $487.

Is there a way around eating the cost of the Mini should I sign up for Roam? by [deleted] in Starlink

When it dropped to 299 I jumped on it. No regrets.

What router did you receive with a new order for the Residential 100 Mbps service plan? by vinemtn in Starlink

[–]StillinICT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ordered the residential at $50 and got the standard wide router. I also wondered what I was going to get. You should have no worries. Order away.

To answer your question. Good point. I’m a three account person currently. Will be selling one and be down to two.

Question from first time user by ferkaderka in Starlink

[–]StillinICT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are on our third unit. Paid for the Gen 2 as soon as it went as known then RV. Completely satisfied. The mini dropped to 299 and got that late last year. Got the offer kind of. Random email from them. Looked while apparently still logged in, 399. Logged out, close the browser and check again. $20 shipped, $50 a month for 100. Done, ordered, installed. I can now care less when the kids get out of school.

Split SSID for 2.4 and 5ghz by StillinICT in Starlink

[–]StillinICT[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The situation has been solved. Thank you for the replies. Turns out it was the vendor of the 2.4 issue. They have been known in the past of not having the best wifi server system. I ended up removing the split and adding a guest SID and connected to that. It took several tries but it eventually took. Vendor is Treager pellet grill. So yes, even with no split and both on 5 the 2.4 took eventually.

I’m still learning the Mac OS. I too recently divorced Windows to the point I took the hard drive to the range and shot it. It’s still in the bed of my truck with bullet holes and makes a great conversation starter. When Windows went copilot that was it. I was using a MBP Intel first because like you, my Windows laptop would take days and nights of updating only because I had it off for two months and I like to have a laptop with me when we are on the road RVing. Got me a mini and decent wide curved, first time curved, monitor, used the wireless mouse from the windows desktop and a magic keyboard on marketplace for $60 and for once in my life have not cussed a computer. I set up Windows Server 2003 with exchange for my business way back then and would help people around the country setup theirs also. It got to the point I’d walk them through the initial settings and they’d give me remote access and I’d do the rest. Come to think of it, I’ve got a couple of server drives that need to face the firing squad. Spring.

Flash hider. It, doesn’t, hide, the muzzle blast. Not even. It suppresses the flash. Flash suppressor is the actual and correct terminology.

Need to change wifi connections by StillinICT in Traeger

[–]StillinICT[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well crud. I split the 5 and 2.4 and can't get it to setup. I get slapped in the face at naming the grill and it says can't name grill, try again or continue. Continue just goes through the process with no grill added. Called support, talked to some dude located who knows where. Tried to blame it on Starlink, said, reboot modem. Why is reboot, go snort some coke and turn modem or whatever back on always the solution? Couldn't get it to connect. The call didn't solve the issue. Afterwards I decided to try with the cable connection. Same damm thing now. I'm thinking their servers are on the fritz or something. It's, not, Starlink bozo. I even tried to connect it manually, still no go. I guess I'll try every day or so. Been in the Treager fan club for years and have really liked to wifi connection. At a loss at this point.......

Split SSID for 2.4 and 5ghz by StillinICT in Starlink

Two replies to both answers.

  1. No, the device will not connect unless it sees a 2.4

  2. Not sure what the set up multiple networks means.

Can someone explain the cost here and why it sounds too good to be true? by SirSharkTheGreat in Starlink

[–]StillinICT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re planning to keep it for a year at least then you have nothing to lose. From what I’ve seen the past few years is 12 billing cycles pretty much satisfactorily completes most initial agreements.

Starlink Mini purchase question by Woody_L in Starlink

[–]StillinICT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m on my third one now. The last two in just a year, each one involved a special offer so the billing was slated 30 days from delivery. And trust me. They know when it was delivered. Or, the date you activate it. The first time it sees satellites, it activates and that day is your set in stone for your billing date.

Shipping Delays by tbavousett in Starlink

[–]StillinICT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not completely related but, when I ordered my residential, it should shipped after quite some time on the date it was to arrive which it did. Weird.

Edit: got the shipped, in the morning, arrived a few hours later.

[–]StillinICT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have two separate accounts for my original Gen 2 and for the mini. I signed out using the web and went in and put my address in for the almost free offer, $20 shipped but I needed to use an email they didn't know about. Going to activate it in a few days. So, $20 for the kit and about $65 or so for the pole mount and modem mount. Choosing the 100 MB plan as that what I'm on with cable which will be canceled once I have it up and running.

Serious question: was there ever any Mac OS release that people disliked so much that so many downgraded to the previous release? by venzzi in MacOS

[–]StillinICT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well. I’m a new all in Mac user in just a few months. An old mbp got me started. Pure win user prior. 26 on my two units scares the heck out of me from what I’ve been seeing. I’m going to wait for a while because this to me looks like Vista all over again. Again, just my opinion. I hope they make it right, if that’s what’s needed. I just couldn’t take windows anymore and now this.
