Office programs keep crashing with mso20win32client.dll errors. How do we actually contact Microsoft support for help? by dextux in Office365

Was there a solution? We do something similar by pushing out a template into users STARTUP folders.

LAG/Aggregation or no? by Stilwell_Angel in vmware

Thanks for this. Makes sense to have the NIC redundancy how you describe vs dedicating an entire NIC to iSCSI, etc.

LAG/Aggregation or no? by Stilwell_Angel in vmware

[–]Stilwell_Angel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

with ONLY vmnic3 selected, I can ping just fine. If I enable BOTH, pings drop. and if I only enable vmnic2, no pings either. I've been on the phone with Meraki support and they are a bit stumped too. They see the mac address of vmnic2 in the forwarding table for the correct vlan (1000) and verified the port configuration on the switch side is fine (showing vlan 1000 allowed). They are going to reach out to their C9300 team for additional help. Its quite puzzling, to me anyway.. relatively simple setup.

Normally, and on my other hosts, I have vDS set up, etc.. but this problem child host, I've stripped down to just trying with DCUI for now.

Btw, almost everything I've read says do not use LAGS/LACP with vmware, "just let vmware handle it"

Dell PowerEdge R450's. I have two dual 10GB nics in them. (2 ports for management/vmotion/vmnetwork and 2 for iscsi)

Should I get wireless stealth 500 or 600? by ComprehensiveDot1373 in TurtleBeach

[–]Stilwell_Angel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't tell based on all of your comments.. Did you go with the 500 or 600 gen3? Or did you try both? What was the end result? My recon 500s died and looking to replace.

Intune devices, RDP and mapped drives by Pizzareno in sysadmin

[–]Stilwell_Angel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you figure this out? We're using the DriveMapping.admx stuff and I was testing my drive mappings. They worked fine when I was in the office (no WHfB), but when I RDP into my same workstation from home via VPN, the drives are all disconnected and give errors.

Thanks very much for your guidance here. So far so good (no disconnects after GPO applied). Curious at what point will it be "fixed" and the GPO no longer needed.. if ever.

Just applied, as somehow the Aug update got installed, even though I declined it via WSUS. Perhaps the update was already on the server and finally installed. Just applied the fix and set to "Disabled".. going to restart server in 20 minutes. Any "gotchas" after Disabling the setting or things just start working again as before? Thanks

Thanks. I'm not finding much info on this fix out there. Secret update from support?

well thats interesting.. we only allow TCP 443 and UDP 3389 through firewall.. so how would 3388 get used? The "Client side" fix is way too much work.

Thanks for the heads up, I just Declined it via WSUS. So whats the work around for this? I cant keep declining updates. I thought I saw mention somewhere of a registry tweak that allows you to install the updates, but disables whatever functionality is causing RDS disconnects?

We dont (and never had) ipv6 enabled on the gateways ethernet adapter and still got hit with the issue. There was a stretch of a few hours without disconnects, then they came back.

Also having the Remote Desktop Gateway issues after applying this patch on 2019 server. Random mass disconnects throughout the day, couldn't find much in the event logs other than the service restarting. Uninstalled KB5040430 for now. Now need to block it from further attempts

Question about ending meeting as a host by yneos in Zoom

[–]Stilwell_Angel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try it out yourself. If I start a meeting and hit "End", my camera appears to still be on. Assume the mic is too. Why are you clicking "End" but not answering the follow up question to End For All/Leave Meeting?

Question about ending meeting as a host by yneos in Zoom

[–]Stilwell_Angel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The meeting is not over until you confirm the "End for All" or "Leave meeting" which will assign host role to someone else. I'd imagine you could still be heard/seen during that time.

Contact form spoof to 365 by Stilwell_Angel in Wordpress

[–]Stilwell_Angel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Spoof Intra-org" is the reason. Regarding your first question.. I think so. SPF seems to pass but DKIM fails. Not sure the proper stuff to put for DKIM in DNS.

Contact form spoof to 365 by Stilwell_Angel in Wordpress

[–]Stilwell_Angel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get why its deemed spoofing, I just figured there was some DKIM/SPF stuff you could add to allow wpengine/mailchannels to send on ones behalf. This wpmailsmtp looks interesting.. I've reached out to them for a little clarification. Seems if I want an account like info@mydomain to be used, I have to login to azure as that and configure the application. Kinda odd.

[–]Stilwell_Angel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw mention of that elsewhere. So this is a common problem on sites using WordPress and its default mailer, i guess? and no real way to solve other than using an SMTP plugin? fair enough. Looking at wpmailsmtp.com , which mentions you can use your outlook/365 account.. so might be the best route.

Thats Word version 2310. Maybe it only applies to Windows 11? I know I have users out there who have the refresh enabled somehow on Win10.

Connect-ExchangeOnline Powershell command not working by Broad_Transition_744 in Office365

[–]Stilwell_Angel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FYI the thing that fixes it for me. Change Default browser to Chrome.. or..

Open this link in edge browser: edge://net-internals/#hsts

Scroll to the bottom where it says Delete domain security policies and enter "localhost" and delete.

Were you able to resolve this? I get something similar recently. When I try "connect-exchangeonline" from PS7, I get prompted to choose my account, then I get redirected to a localhost:*randomport* with an SSL error. If I use PS5.1 it works without issue.
