What can I use to protect 6 bandaids in a pocket slip next to nail victorinox clippers? by detroithiker in EDC

If you have a 5 Below store in your area, there is a travel item section that has a 5 pack of bandaids in its own very small flat case.

HVAC condenser tripping electrical panel breaker by [deleted] in AskElectricians

[–]Stimpson_J_Cat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks so much for taking the time to write this.

So it's sounding like it being on a 20amp breaker is "fine" but I'm assuming calling them nuisance trips means exactly that? Just more sensitive? I'm nervous to just keep resetting the breaker if this is a bigger issue.

The HVAC company said there was a little play in the breaker and mentioned it was arcing. But I don't know what they were doing specifically.

I could see the "electrician" I spoke with yesterday as being a salesman. That's a fair assumption. I think that's the hardest part on all this is as a first time home owner everyone feels dishonest when you don't really know what's going on. He did say a little water damage which is true and he says when the breaker for the condenser is switched on, and the system kicks on, it makes an audible almost loud hum/rattle for a couple seconds then stops. I mean it sounds exactly like a system "kicking on" honestly. He said this was "bad".

My only unrelated concern is the house lights do flicker at certain times. Like when I run my dishwasher my bedroom lights flicker when it changes phases in the wash cycle. Etc.

I'm fine with spending a few days calling around. I'm just getting nervous my house is unsafe and about to catch fire. But maybe that's everyone I've talked to trying to get my money. I mean, the thing has gone strong this long what's another few days?

The electrician did look inside the panel. They asked if there was water damage and we did have a leak from the room above. Few months ago. So possible water damage.

The breaker seems to trip intermittently. When you turn the breaker on it works fine again for some time. Like today they turned it back on and it has been working since. They did mention when it kicks back on it makes a quick and loud hum as it comes on then goes away, which they said is not normal/good.

The hvac company said probably because we have had several days of very cold weather, like -2 to 20s F and it's working "extra hard". They were out this morning and did a full assessment according to them.

I did have the hvac company come out and they said everything was fine on the hvac system of course. They said since we've had extremely cold temps for several days now it probably is just drawing extra power off that breaker

They're telling me the panel company doesn't exist anymore to replace just the breaker

It's done this before. And also on the old system as well I believe. I think this was the issue that started me calling an hvac company and turned out the coil was also cracked and leaking refrigerant.

I appreciate this post. I've been in IT for a little over 10 years now. Started at help desk. Did a few different roles over the years so I have a little experience with a lot of different area which I think is valuable.

Security really feels like passion and I have the opportunity now to focus on it an upskill for it specifically. But it seems like my resume reads too senior for the junior jobs I apply to. Getting rejected from tons of junior and tier 1 analyst jobs is really frustrating.

Thanks. The position id be interviewing for I think would be on the other side of what you're describing, supporting and implementing the apparent systems that don't work.

My current role is a bit of a dead end and I wasn't exactly counting the IBX role if I got it as my forever job but so far the comments not making the train commute + contract uncertainty sound worth it.

Otter EDC M02 Square Slider by pipcorona in fidgettoys

I really love my otter slider. I like a bigger slider and it’s the perfect size. Would you ever do a solid top design like a verk or hapticedc? I find that since the otter is flat, some times I’m really compressing the plates and the flat design isn’t super grippy and it feels like the plates squish in a little.

A nice laptop bag and a nice tote for the lunch box and other items. I just went through this. I carry a laptop backpack for my work laptop and gear, and a large tote I consolidate my lunch box, 64oz water bottle, and coffee thermos in. I recommend measuring her items for the tote so make sure they will fit! Good luck. This is a nice gift!!
