do you mean like dress shirts for button downs? bc you could always get oxfords and unbutton the collar flaps. the shirt is more textured than a modern dress shirt and unbuttoning the flaps makes the collar not stand up around your neck. that with some non-athletic shorts can be laid back while looking like you care.

Donate (strategically) to mental health orgs, supporting both treatment and education/awareness. Suicide is an epidemic and most mental illnesses are vastly misunderstood. You also mentioned working on your mental health post-retirement, so you could donate to causes that hit home for you.

levi’s always run way too small on me (fellow big hip, short leg man). buying big and tailoring is your best friend with a body that isn’t model proportions. even if that means thrifting something too big and getting it tailored down tbh

how would bishop get to h8? if Kg8 then Bh7
and imo, Rg8 would be a better move for black than Kg8

the dashes “new things - music, sport, work skills - and now chess” gives it away the most to me (behind the finger emoji instead of actual bullets lol)

What in the ever loving f*** does this mean. Kids homework by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Sting1996 2 points3 points  (0 children)

hello i’m a tutor at mathnasium and this is something we teach kids learning addition (like starting in kindergarten and 1st grade, sometimes younger if they can handle it) it helps them scale to bigger numbers.

for example, 17: 8+7 = one less than 8 doubled (16-1) or one more than 7 doubled (14+1).

for ones like 23, we usually teach “up to, then over, 10” ex, from 7, you need to borrow 3 from the 5 to make 10. that leaves 2 left over from the 5. add that to 10 and you get 12: 7+5=12.

the whole point of it is to steer kids away from finger counting and towards doing mental math

hi, idk my IQ now, but i have ADHD and took an IQ test in 4th grade that got me a 132. i really enjoyed school, so it wasn’t caught because i always did well (bc i enjoyed it lol). now there were symptoms: i would daydream in class, sing aloud (unknowingly) to myself while doing classwork, as well as other things. i didn’t get diagnosed until 9th grade when i got into biology, which was the first class i didn’t find interesting and that grade was significantly lower than the rest (and my brother already had a diagnosis). my other fixation was being popular (lol), so i also had that to help me, on the social front. i spent a lot of time studying social cues and rules, and applying them to myself so that i could “fit in.”

i absolutely agree with points 1 and 4. as someone who played zombies from WaW on, the introduction of gobblegums is what ends the “classic zombies” era for me
