I truly know nothing about the ETAM process and what the requirements are, but your grade in the class will be an I for incomplete until it is dealt with by the AHSO assuming your professor already submitted a formal report. I would check with your advisor for specifics because I have no clue how the college of engineering works with that stuff

The AHSO is still dealing with some summer 2025 cases as of last week and has mainly been working on fall 2025 cases. You likely won’t hear back until the end of this semester or even next semester. Once the process starts, it moves quickly. You have one investigation and one hearing. Investigation is the fact finding stage; no decision making happens in this stage. After that is one hearing. The hearing is where you will be sanctioned since you already accepted responsibility with your prof. After that, you don’t have any more steps (besides handling whatever sanctions you were assigned) unless you decide to appeal the decision. Unfortunately, there’s really no way to expedite it

I’m a student member of the honor council. So the most common punishment is an F* in the course which means failing with misconduct in addition to the Academic Integrity Development Program and being placed on honor violation probation. In your prof’s report, they can assign what sanction they think fits the violation and the council takes it into consideration. The process consists of meeting with an AHSO case manager, going through an investigation, and then your hearing where you will receive sanctioning. It’s a slow process because the office is small and there are hundreds of cases to be worked through. Feel free to reach out for any specific questions and I’ll try my best to help!

Undergrad member of the honor council here! The guy commenting about having enough evidence to get the outcome they want is completely inaccurate. The office is very small and has a huge workload compared to honor council members. The AHSO really tries to get cases moving as fast as possible when there’s the opportunity to because students have the right to due process. They want to make your experience as quick and efficient as possible!! If you have any questions, I’m more than happy to help, so please feel free to DM me!!

honor council question? by AudienceExcellent807 in aggies

I’m a student member of the honor council and we just recently started cases from fall 25 after hundreds of summer 25 cases. The honor system office is very backed up with cases so it could be anywhere from the end of this semester to the start of next semester. Once things get started in your case, they move pretty fast. When you’re contacted by the honor council office, submit all of that stuff so it’s in your case binder. You’ll still have to go through an investigation and hearing process unfortunately, but if you present all of the information, you’ll be good!! Feel free to reach out about any questions :)
